Draft - Poured a ruby red in color with a nice white head. Aroma is medium of lightly roasted malts and, more mildly, of spicy hops. Flavor is malty to begin, but ends up with spicy hops and a fairly long medium bitter finish. Very good and well worth finding again sometime.

Peu de soutien de malt. Une finale amère et alcoolisé très tranchante qui cache tout le reste de cette bière.

On tap at Mickey Finn’s Brewpub in Portland, Oregon. This location does not brew their own beer. Pours a brownish amber brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissolves and leave behind a nice lacing. Aroma is light with some raosted multi-grain malt, flowery/ and piney hops and a touch of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a bitter caramel flavor. Finish is bitter and a flat tart aftertaste.

Aroma was very light, hard to detect any more then a little bit of hop, taste was much better, smooth ,creamy caramel and toffee emphasized taste, touch of hop flavor, more evident hop bitterness in the finish. Taste delivers much more than aroma promises. Great session brew

Bottle. Poured copper read with a thick head. Hoppy aroma with a tinge of something else, maybe soap. Medium body. Fast malty flavour with a hoppy bite. Finish like a bitter. Worthy session ale.

Very refreshing hoppy red ale that poured a deep amber brown hue with a healthful head. England meets Oregon in this original yeasty beast. Great bitter/malt components with lasting mouthfeel. Goddamn solid beer, I’d drink it nearly any day!

(Bottle) Organic beer blind tasting at Brouwers’s in Seattle, March 3, 2007. Thin white head with a red-brown body. Nose of high hops. Strong, bitter hopped flavour. Tart finish. Pleasantly surprised.
