Some piney/grapefruity hops present in the nose initially. Light toasted malts are also present. Pretty hoppy with cascades dominating. Some scant sweetness present in the aroma as well. Dark copper/light amberish transparent body with frothy off-white head and nice lacing. Very attractive. Piney/hempy hop flavors immediately hit the tongue, but not destroyingly bitter. Backed up by lots of sweet, caramelly malt goodiness. Small hempy hops come in at the end, producing a light bitter finish. Well done! blutt59 (2186), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Fruity, sugary aroma, very lightly bready/doughy, with slight apple, cherry and citrus notes, some light toast and brown sugar. Clear garnet color, head and lacing are fine and slight. Flavor profile is really well-balanced, again fruity and lightly sweet, but drying out a bit before the end, and with ample bitterness and citrus flavor from the Cascades, some punch/cider notes, also lightly woody, and with a light-medium amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is prickly and relatively low in effervescence, body is medium. For an organic red, this is pretty good! Angeloregon (2038), Portland, Oregon, USA

England meets Oregon in this original yeasty beast. Great bitter/malt components with lasting mouthfeel. Goddamn solid beer, I’d drink it nearly any day! bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
