Commercial Description:
Green Elephant is green because it's made from organic malts, and elephant because of the Amarillo, Ahtanum and organic Cascade hops. It's medium-bodied with a subtle malt underpining and an explosive hop flavor and bitterness. Dang, the elephant is hoppy.

Pours a transparent bronze orange with a stringy wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet lightly biscuity caramel malt and grassy earthy green hops. Body starts fairly full and caramely sweet with some citrusy grassy hops and a drier, semi-bitter grassy finish. An ok IPA, but could use more hop balance and grapefruity character.

My Bottom Line:
A divinely boastful hop bouquet proffers piney, resinous jocundity as its grassy alluvia seep into tender and sweet cereals. This PNW IPA is so honest, I cannot help but want to converse with it more often.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the misty orange blond.
-The tantalizing hop perfume slightly outshines the already enjoyable flavor profile.
-Crushed nuts seem to surface from the malt character, which is a tad underdeveloped.
-Peppery, grassy, coniferous hop bitterness seals the deal and links with the compelling aroma.

Bottle; thx Mike!

(Rating #1741)

22 oz bottle from New Seasons - Seasonal. Big Hoppy Beer. Hops kind of mask everything else, but very nice. I’d get it in a keg (if it were available), but it’s not for the masses.

Aroma of a citrus salad, flowery, not harsh; a little pine, some caramel. Flavor-wise, the hops a bit more assertive, citus focus on bitter, enough malt to keep it from going harsh.

Bottle. Dark amber. Frothy head. Citrus and wood in the aroma. Flavour starts citrus then the wood kicks in. Aggressive hop profile. Relatively clean finish.

Pours a slightly cloudy copper, rich head with some retention. Incredibly floral aroma that also presents caramel, soy, and curry spice. Dry and leafy, noticeable hop spiciness, and the finish lingers about with just the right amount of hop bitterness. The best Northwest IPA I’ve had in ages, many thanks to the Beerman at Whole Foods in Portland, OR, who told me I had to buy it!

Bomber. My expectations on this were beat! Well balanced, and well hopped up this is definitely one of the better "Organic" brews I’ve encountered. Fruity malts combine with a mature hop palate mid to finish. Medium bodied. Goodness!
