COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Organic Portland Roast Espresso Stout is a collaboration between the Laurelwood brewery and Portland Roasting. The beer features a blend of Ethiopian and Sumatran coffees specially selected by the Head Brewer at Laurelwood. The Organic and farm friendly coffees blend nicely with their smooth and mellow organic stout. The roasted character of the ale is nicely complimented by the coffee flavor and aroma.

Jet black. Amazing espresso flavor. Amazing. Not much head, no lacing. More coffee than stout. Some oats would make this close to a 5. Thanks aaron.

Taste is smooth and slightly roasty with some coffee, mocha, espresso and vanilla. Finish is roasty and sweetish with some coffee and chocolate. Okay sweetish coffee stout.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of espresso beans and roast. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of espresso beans upfront, with a little roast and a touch of cocoa. Medium bodied and pretty monolithic. Very nice.

Great aroma of roasted espresso grounds. Dark brown black with nice stouty cream head. Nice sweet espresso flavor. Almost like a sweet stout. Great simple coffee stout. Not too burnt.

Draught at Pumphouse, Richmond, BC; 6.4% ABV
Expected black, instead it’s dark mahogany, clean, with beige nitro head. Nice roasted malt aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, lightly sweet, some roasted malt, some coffee, but also some taste of "bad" coffee. More roastiness in the final.
Quite nice.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2016 Draft at Moriartys. Opaque black/brown pour with just a slight amount of khaki foam. Strong cold espresso aroma. Silky oily body. Big roasty coffee flavors but not much else. Done pretty well. No wrong notes.

Nitro, Pumphouse Pub. Medium brown. Thick nitro head. Has a vanilla, coffee character and so much nitro it’s practically ice cream. This ends up knocking bitterness out of it, to the detriment of balance.

Very good for the low ABV. Obviously a bit thinner as a result, but very nice flavor. Roasty malts. Strong espresso stouts. This is not a sweet stout, as an FYI. Recommended.
