COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Organic Portland Roast Espresso Stout is a collaboration between the Laurelwood brewery and Portland Roasting. The beer features a blend of Ethiopian and Sumatran coffees specially selected by the Head Brewer at Laurelwood. The Organic and farm friendly coffees blend nicely with their smooth and mellow organic stout. The roasted character of the ale is nicely complimented by the coffee flavor and aroma.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours very brown/black with a decent tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Medium minus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is dark chocolate, espresso and some fairly burnt malt. Leaves a chocolate sensation on the top of the tongue. Finishes pretty dry.

Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom! Itís black with a red hue and a creamy, lightbrown head. The aroma has wonderful notes of coffee and chocolate! The flavour is slightly sweet with notes of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, light licorice and the finish is dry and slightly bitter. The flavour is very pure, but to be perfect for me, it should have had a a softer/smoother and fuller body.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, bitter chocolate with good coffee grind, coffee extract, herbaceous character, very nice. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, grassy hops, nice and smooth. Bottle at Spinrsx tasting.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 Sample at the 3rd Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/22/2011: Pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing. Roasted coffee aroma with some burnt malt behind it. Medium body with flavors of black coffee, malt and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty coffee with a lasting bitterness. Good all around.

Bomber. Poured deep brown with a creamy, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter roasted coffee and vanilla beans, with low-moderate roast.. accents of coconut and cocoa.. warmth brought out sweet rolled oats. The flavor found a heavier, roastier impression from the coffee, along with mild related sourness toward the back.. vanilla and coconut surrounded, along with coffee bitterness.. nice cold coffee finish. Medium-bodied, dry, and scratchy on the palate.. the sourness worked well.. just a decent flow. Iíd gladly drink it again.

Bottle:   Black, moderate to large frothy beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Soft sweetened coffee, perhaps more of a mocha, but also some cocoa and chocolate.   Smells inviting.   A bit more subdued on the tongue.   A bit more of a black coffee comes out, especially towards the back.   Frontside is semi-sweet, cocoa and chocolate.   Along with the coffee bringing up the rear, its also a bit hoppy.   Minor on the hops tho.   This Stout seems a little thin overall.   Seems a touch watery.   Sweetened black coffee on the exit.   Decent stout, nice coffee like sweetness, but its a little thin.

22. Pours jet black with a big, dense, creamy, pitted tan head that leaves plenty of stringy lace. Gorgeous. Big sweet chocolatey coffee nose--smells, even when cellar cool, like a hot cup of good coffee. I canít stress that good part of good coffee enough. So many places dump in a pot of day-old truck stop coffee and call it a coffee stout. Blecch. This is some serious business right here. Comes on creamy, high side of medium--nice big beer. Plenty of chocolate and coffee, beautifully integrated, on the mid-palate. Nice long coffee finish. This seriously is making me crave a cup of joe. This is an awesome coffee beer.

Bomber. Pours a dark brown color with a large beige head. A massive coffee nose. The flavor is big coffee, milky, metal, nutty, medium roast. Massive coffee.
