Draft at Strangelove. Pitch black pour. Very large frothy beige head. Nicely blended dark sugary malts with dry hops. Slightly smoked chocolate coffee mousse. Surprisingly creamy body. Liked quite a bit.

On tap.A: Opaque black with a thin cappuccino head. N: Big chocolate, tasty coffee, hints of vanilla and licorice. Toasted wood. T: Sweet, bordered by espresso bitterness. M: Medium body, a bit watery. Crisp on the tongue from the carbonation. O : Decent porter, not really a standout in any sense. Clean and drinkable, not terribly complex.

Nice a dark pour with earthy, chocolate and slight wood smoke on the nose. Very grain-oriented on the palate, with a husky mouthfeel and a very long finish. Dry. Slight bitterness, plenty of malts.

Black, creamy black head. Smells like chocolate milk. Flavor is toasty, with a hint of coffee, plus a bit of pine in the finish. Satisfying beer.

Off the tap at PDX. Poured minimal head on a brown colored body. The aroma is roasted malt with coffee and licorice showing up late. The taste is smooth with coffee and roasted malt mostly, a touch of burnt wood with a mild bitter finish. The texture is crisp with soft edges and moderate carbonation. Super tasty.

Tap at Laurelwood on Sandy, PDX, 25/05/13. Extremely dark mahogony brown bordering light black with a thin tan head. Nose is light roast, touch of chocolate, dark toffee. Taste comprises roast malt, chocolate, molasses, tar. Medium bodied, a little watery, light roast in the finish. A drinkable porter but nothing I’d rush back to. The mustard made with this beer that I purchased at the brewpub is superior!

Draught. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose is roasty with a slight bit of bitter coffee in there. Taste is very slightly bitter with some great coffee and roasting to it. Nice brew.
