harrisoni (4551), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 29, 2006 On tap at Laurelwood, Portland. Black with dark brown edges. Tan head. Lovely porter aroma. Sligtly sour choc/malt. Very velvety choc/coffee in mouth. More choccy than I would expect. Nice. Some sour edge, bit of charcoal powder. Great balance. Loved the aroma on this so much I had to give it a 10. Again I had this 2 days later and it didn’t disappoint. unclemattie (1420), Georgia, USA Aug 12, 2006 100% Organic. very dark brown. off white head. aroma of robust coffee. heavy roasted malts. reminds me of Sinebrychoff Porter IV. KIPPIS! SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA Feb 15, 2007 My favorite porter on draft. Medium bodied but full flavored. You can drink this all night. Its got plenty of roasty malt flavor that hits you in the middle of the tongue. Mild hoppiness that blends very well with the roasted malt. Slightly sweet. If i was going to have one beer on tap at my house and couldnt change it. It would be this one. DA (2184), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jun 10, 2004 Pours a midnight black color with a off-white head. Strong coffee aroma, very roasty with nice maltyness to it. Taste was very smooth, with great roasted coffee tones and a good thickness to it. TheBeerLover (1002), DC Metro Area, USA Nov 29, 2007 Sampled a pint on this one on draught at the Public House in Portland, OR. Pours to a jet black color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is very fragrant, with big piney hop, chocolate, and roasty aromas. The palate is firm, with good dark chocolate, coffee, estery currant, and mild roasty flavors. This beer finishes with more really good chocolate and coffee flavors, then ends roasty, and dry with a piney hop bite that lingers. Excellent pint of porter, with a nice PNW punch of hop aromas and bitterness. On draught, very fresh, and flavorful. I could have drank this one all day long.
