badgerben (3001), Blaine, Minnesota, USA May 15, 2008 Thanks to Skyview! Dark brown color with no head. Very nutty aroma. Light smoke and a roasty malt flavor. Quite dry. Slightly piney. Pretty tasty.
Ungstrup (10863), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 21, 2008 Draft. A deep red beer with a thin rim of tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as a light touch of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel as well as a light touch of roasted malt, leading to a dry bitter finish. WeeHeavySD (1564), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 3, 2008 12oz bonus from a trade, great name. Shared with my gf Cyn. Pours black with a puffy tan head. Nose is slightly sweet with a bit of a hopped nose. Taste is sweet, and really pretty nice. Can’t say I know what to think of this and its pretty sweet and thing but nicely thin. Strangely good. bitbucket (1478), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear dark brown with rid highlights and a lacy tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt. Full sweet taste of chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, oatmeal and brown sugar. Semi-dry finish. Capa (665), Yokosuka, Japan Jun 11, 2008 Deep brown with nice ruby highlights and a medium, creamy head. Roasted malts, plenty o’ milk, chocolate, and some coffee hnaging out as well. Soft mouth. Roasted malts, chocolate, not as much milk as I was expecting from the nose, some coffee, and a sour finish. While I was hoping for more of the milk notes, this is an easy drinking, tasty porter. I’d have a night of these. BDR (1850), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 3, 2008 Brown color with light head. Roasted malt with faint coffee aroma. A light body with a little more coffee and chocolate flavors than I’d expect form a porter. Nice.
