COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich Coffee and chocolate flavors dominate this opaque working class Ale. Stout’s extreme popularity among the British factory workers of the 1800’s may qualify it as the fuel for the Industrial Revolution. "By the time you get it, you’re too far out."

Black with dark brown head and spots of lace. Bitter cocoa in the nose with roast malts and some fruits. Bitter coffee flavors with some bitter hops and chocolate. Finishes bitter. Thick and chewy beer that is cloying and coating in the mouth.

Creamy tan head on a black/brown body. Aroma is chocalte and some roasted malts. Thin and oily on the mouth with average amount of flavour. Pretty simple stout.

Near black colour but with mahogany highlights. Aroma is of sweet chocolatey malts. The flavour is also sweet, the overall character rather lightish - mainly chocolate and sugar. Kind of like if you brewed a Foreign Stout specifically to serve as a dessert.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2005 Sampled at the public house. Perfect. Deep brown pour, with a toasted tan head. Nice aroma of roasted coffee, unsweetened chocolate and cookie dough. Flavor is the same as aroma but with a pleasant creamy/bitter finish. This is an all around good stout. I can see why Laurelwood is a winner at so many beer competitions!

Tap@Larelwood. Really ashy, burnt stout. Coffee rind, with a touch of soy, medium bitterness, pretty tasty.

Black color with dark brown head & no lacing. The aroma has notes of muskat grapes, fresh hops & a good balance of roasted malts. The flavor is very well balanced too with a docus on the special B. Finishes smooth. Very good stout.

Pours a black color with a tan head. Roasty coffee aroma with hints of chocolate. This stout was very smooth on the palate with a great chocolate flavor that lingered on and on. Great sweet stout.
