Sampled at the public house. Perfect. Deep brown pour, with a toasted tan head. Nice aroma of roasted coffee, unsweetened chocolate and cookie dough. Flavor is the same as aroma but with a pleasant creamy/bitter finish. This is an all around good stout. I can see why Laurelwood is a winner at so many beer competitions!

Dec 4, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted sweetish malty chocolate aroma with some hints of coffee. Sweetish roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a slightly sweetish roasted malty chocolate finish.

Sep 26, 2008 tap. sampler from Laurelwood Public House. I was well into a day of drinking while exploring portland and all I have written down for this one is: tingly mettallic and thin... but I gave it a 7 (or 3.5 by ratebeer scale). so I won’t screw up the average by putting this in, but would need to try again for a proper rate. portland is a dangerous place for a beer junkie.

Sep 26, 2008 A great stout, huge body and mouth. Creamy strong head, dark as night with chocolate malts and barley aroma. Smells and taste like grain.

Jul 22, 2008 Near black with a tan head. Nice coffee roasted malt aromas. Medium body. Rich, hearty sweet flavors of mocha coffee with black roasted malt bitterness to balance. No off flavors, a very good draft stout. Tap @ Laurelwood PDX airport.

Jul 21, 2008 Draft. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and chocolate as well as hints of acidity from the roasted malt, leading to a dry bitter and roasted finish.
