COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong ale is as rich and complex as it is drinkable. A blend of six malts and four hops creates an ale with deep carmel character, spicy hop flavor and a dry roasty finish. Itís spelled differently because itís Vonderful.

22 oz bottle from bottletrek.com. Pours mahogany, airy head and big lacing. Aroma is mainly sweet roasted malt. Flavor is deep caramel and roasted nutty malts, with notes of pine and spice. Medium to light mouthfeel with a hoppy dry finish. Decent winter brew.

Tap @ Brewery: Ruby caramel color, light head and lacing. Nose of light nuts and caramel, lots of buttery chestnuts and light roast, dry woody character and a full malty body. Sweet caramel and a light bitter hoppy tail. Dry, sticky and nutty. Lingers.

Tap... Poured a hazy, deep ruby with an off-white head. Roasted, dry-malt on the nose. Really chewy palate, you can feel a lot of fizz on the back of your tongue. Chalky hops with a caramel-malt balance. Has a silky element which is really contrasty that I like. Nice sweet, tart-hop finish. Their seasonals have been really good lately.

2006 Edition... Dark Amber/mahogany brew with a nice small white head from an on tap pour. Malty nose with a creamy flavor that makes me wonder how it would be on Nitro. This yearís edition is a bit hoppier than years past (in my memory banks). Iím always pleased to find this one on tap as people drink it up as fast as it goes on. It is so good itís worth picking out a growler or even getting them to fill up a keg when you can find it.

dark glistening mahogany with aroma of black cherry, leomn an dstraw. tiny carbonation (draft) on the tongue, which soon gets feeliing dry at the bck. slightly sour flavor, working that thin border withn bitter thanks to jagged hops, cardamon i think. combining in a slightly alkiline, high-pitched finish. well-craftred in its balance, just not my preference.

Draft at the Laurelwood NW Public House. Has a dark purple, brown and red colored body with a tan, thin head. Rich and creamy up front, very hoppy over the middle and on the back of the tongue, reminds me of the hop level seen in Bigfoot. Hoppy, spicy, peppery on the tongue. Doesnít blow me away, but itís a nice winter beer no doubt.
