Bottle: Clear copper color with lots of carbonation and a tan head. Earthy, grassy aroma. Hoppy flavors with a weird metallic finish and kind of that out of balance cardboard hop aftertaste. I expected more from this because of the ratings. Perhaps I got a bad bottle.

Crisp, clean aroma, with a hint of hops. Nice medium-caramel color. Initial flavor is a bit malty for an IPA, but the finish is very hoppy. Overall, a very solid IPA.

On draft at Laurelwood in Portland. This poured a golden-orange color with nice head. Lots of floral aroma notes along with dank, resiny hops. Flavor is brilliant with lots of piney, resiny notes and grapefruit/citrus hops. A good deal of malt to back up all the hops and maintain a nice balance.

Draught at the airport. Pours orange-copper with offwhite head. The aroma is grapefruit, melon, and some herbal hops. The flavor is lots of grapefruit, a bit of pine, and some fruity sweetness. The finish is slight dryness and some good pine. Tasty.

Goodlooking copper pour. Nicely hoppy aroma with floral and citrus hops mixed with a plesant malt sweetness. Very well integrated hops (crisp citrus peal and floral) with a grainy malt that is just s touch sweet. Fairly full body and a plessnt dry finish. Solid.

Have had this many times at Laurelwood’s various locations. Colour... golden-copper with a very thick head. Nose... heavy on the citrus (grapefruit) hops with bits of malt. Palate... this IPA is certainly the best IPA that Laurelwood has ever cranked out! It definitely puts the Hop Monkey to shame, but comes close to The Boss IPA. Loads of grapefruity hops and plenty of tropical fruits to back it up with starfruit, pineapple and kiwi leading the charge. The malt is sweetish, but just there enough to keep the hops in check and balance. This is not an, "over-the-top hops" west coast IPA, but quite decent for that category.

Sampled at the SpringBeerFest in Portland. Light orange, hazy. Really enticing aromas of mango peel, grapefruit, resin. Palate is more malt-driven and earthy, kind of a let down after such a great nose. Stemmy, bitter finish.

Draft at Naked City. Pours a deep honey golden with a very slight haziness and a off white head on the loose uneven side. Subtle orange and grapefruit, light peppering, the sweetness is aided by a mild caramel malt presence. Medium body with a carbonation that isn’t overly assertive. Light butterscotch maltiness hits first in the flavor adding some sweetness and depth but also takes away from some of the hop character. Good amount of cracker and pepper sharp/spiciness with the hops a heavier citrus pine character. Easy drinking but would like to see the nose cleaned up a bit.
