3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
West USA trip 2010. On tap @ PIB. The aroma has fruity hops. Clear, copper-golden beer with an off-white, lasting head. The taste is bitter, bit sweet and very fruity hoppy with peach and citrus.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
10 ounce sample on tap at Laurelwood NW Public House. Aroma is sweet, citrus-like, and quite similar to the Hop Monkey. There is a little more floral character to this, as well as a little bit of hempiness. Transparent golden orange body with a small bubbly white head and good lacing. Has a slight sweet start, which becomes rather spicy and herbal in the middle. A little onion and a small amount of toastiness. FInishes dry with a touch of ethanol. Feels more balanced than Hop Monkey, but the spicy astringency is a little weird.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from SuzyGreenberg - thanks Ben. Pours lightly hazy amber with a foamy 4 finger beige head. Aroma is hugely citric. Medium body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is pretty much grapefruit rind over mildly roasted caramel. The hop is huge. Thins a bit in the finish. Bitter just builds and builds.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
2010-06-26. Copper body with a modest beige head and light lace. 3+ Very green leafy hop aroma. 7+ Flavour is similar, lots of green leafy hops up front, but the second wave of hops has a pleasant citrus melange with it. Smooth average palate. Very nice. On Tap at Laurelwood NW Public House, Portland.

Beautifuldero copper with thin white head. Huge arms of grassy and earthy hops. Carbonsyupb and hops dance on the tongue. Really nice hop presence with a maltiness to just cut a bit. Really nice ipa. Best I have had from laurelwood.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big thanks to Mike for this one.
Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a thick creamy head that recedes to a soapy cap and leaves sticky lacing along the sides.
Aroma is very nice with some pithy grapefruit and hints of sweeter citrus, oranges and pineapples. There is enough sweet malts to keep things in balance a bit.
The taste is wonderfully hoppy with lots of grapefruit and pineapple but, more than the aroma, there is a substantial resinous pine flavor coming out. There is a balanced caramel malts and lightly toasty malt backbone underneath.
The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied for an IPA with good carbonation and just the right amount of sticky hop juice.
This is an excellent IPA and I’d really consider it more of an IPA + 1/2. It’s definitely on the hefty side of a normal IPA. No matter the style and comparable beers, this is a wonderful beer
