4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle acquired in a trade with a friend in the Northwest. Consumed at home and poured into a goblet. It pours a little hazy copper with a nice head. The aroma is a mild citrus with hints of resin and tropical fruit. The taste is quite balanced with the main properties of the hops evidently coming from late in the boil and dry-hopping. The finish is clean. Great beer. I wish we could get this out here on the East Coast.

Bottle from Haggen’s Grocery, Burlington, marked 8-13-14 (less than one month old?)
Cloudy copper to light amber color with generous compact head. Nice aroma, mild, hoppy, a bit animal. Lean malt and caramel flavor, with very moderate residual sweetness; strong hopping, very resiny, citrusy, zesty; a bit caramellish in the final.
Fresh and excellent, almost a Double IPA.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
this is a damn good IPA. Immediate stone fruits and citrus taste. Balanced and deep. The only thing this could use is a better bouquet, but otherwise a top west coast IPA!!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drove out to Laurelwood to try this one on tap. Pours bright gold; aroma is dank with some cat pee, tropical fruit, and pine. Flavor is fruity sweet with a nice malt balance and a clean, piney bitter finish. Dense mouthfeel. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fresh from a bottle purchased in Olympia (bottled 6/10/14, drank 6/31/14). I’m just going to repeat OldGrowth’s rating right before mine, because it seems perfect for this beer:
"Good aroma sweet. Caramel, pine, grapefruit. Clean browNish orange color good head and lace. Bittersweet flavor. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Bitter dry finish. Very nice."
I’d only add that the aroma was a bit tame, and that the bitter hop taste was very clean and well-balanced with the caramel.
