Very good & dense, cream-coloured head over clear amber-brown beer with a mossy sheen. Chocolate, solvent, pine, bit herbal nose. Alcoholic-sweet, chocolate flavour; slightly bitterish-almondy, strengthening with warming, and ending on crude, leafy bitterness. After some more warming up, a welcome hint at incense. Medium bodied, some alcoholwarming, and very creamy texture of the head, being pretty stable. Very run-of-the-mill Walloon dark ale.

Würziger, deutlich getreidiger Antrunk. Der Alkoholanteil unterstützt das röstige, in Teilen trockene Malz. Zum Ende süßer mit Schokoladennoten, deutlich Hefe, etwas bananig. Stimmig! 9/9/9/11/7/10

Bottle. Pours dark brown. Off white head. Nose of fig, lemon, caramel, yeast and spices. Taste is the same, but with sweet coriander I didn’t pick up in the nose. Taste is more of a lemon peel than fresh lemon. Interesting as it has some of the traditional wit notes but this is clearly not a wit. Solid all around beer.

Bottle. Coriander, light nutmeg, and apple malt aroma. Orange-brown color with large off-white head. Sweet coriander, lemon peel, and light toffee malt flavor. Medium body. Excellent - like a dark witbier.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2011 30/01/2011 - 33cl bottle @ home - BBD: 18/3/11 (2011-45)

Clear brown beer with reddish glare and dark brown chunks floating around. Off-white thick creamy head, stable and beautiful lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, milk chocolat, yeast, green bananas. MF: little too much carbon, medium body. Taste: some caramel, little mocha, a fruity touch. Cherries, red fruits. And not really well hidden: the clear presence of alcohol. Aftertaste: a little hop, but almost none, mocha. The beer gets way better on warming up. Serve rather at 10 then 6°C.
