Mahogany red with a nice head. The aroma is malty with hints of alcohol. the mouthfeel is oily. The flavour has sweetness and nice notes of roasted malt, caramel, candy sugar and nuts. It’s a bock for men, but I also like it in lesser volumes...

Courtesy of Papsoe. Thank you, Henrik. Fruit laden malt aroma with hints of caramel. The body is a muddy orange/brown and the head is tan, smallish and diminishes quickly. Stewed fruits, alcohol, malt. Has a hearty (yet still sweetish) bready finish. Faintly spicey int he aftertaste. Decent brew.

Bottled, thanks jeverszeuge! Clear dark ruby, small head. papery malt aroma. Sweet with soft, rounded mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Lots of malt, though a bit restrained flavourwise, but there are red berries and caramel. Low bitterness.

Bottled. Clear, copper body and a nice, bubbly beige head. Sweet and malty nose, lightly fruity. Sweet and heavy flavor, with alcohol, malt, some fuityness and tobacco. Full, warming body. The finish has a good dash of sweetness, malt and some alcohol. A lovely, warming, balanced and well-brewed doppelbock. (070427)
