Ungstrup (29081) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 12, 2007
Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge tan head. The aroma is quite sweet with notes of prunes, over ripe fruits, caramel, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruit, caramel, nuts, wood, and alcohol, very complex and nice - like I like a Doppelbock. The end is sweet, alcoholic and dry.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, warm nutty brown with a tall, dense, creamy and almost cappuchinoish head. Full, sweet aroma of roasted malt. Very full-bodied with roasted malts, overripe fruit and even a touch of licorice. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. Lovely indeed. 251206

Bottled, thanks jeverszeuge! Clear dark ruby, small head. papery malt aroma. Sweet with soft, rounded mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Lots of malt, though a bit restrained flavourwise, but there are red berries and caramel. Low bitterness.

Dark amber color; creamy head. Malty aroma, caramel, molasses, sweet wood. Strong body structure, with a lot of malt and caramel, a bit buttery; a touch of chocolate; sweet but not sticky; warming alcohol; correct bitterness. Good but simple.

MiP (13478) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 8, 2006
Bottle. Slightly estery, brown sugar, sweet plum aroma. Clear brown colour. Small, but creamy and stable light brown head. Slightly peppery and sweet flavour with a caramelly aftertaste. Not overly flavourful for a doppelbock. Medium mouthfeel, quite palatable. A nice enough beer, but I expect a little more from a doppelbock.

yngwie (13127) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2007
Bottled. Clear, copper body and a nice, bubbly beige head. Sweet and malty nose, lightly fruity. Sweet and heavy flavor, with alcohol, malt, some fuityness and tobacco. Full, warming body. The finish has a good dash of sweetness, malt and some alcohol. A lovely, warming, balanced and well-brewed doppelbock. (070427)

Pours dee red amber with big fizzy beige head. Aroma is full of caramel and plums. Taste is initially vinious, then sweet from caramel, then turns dry and peppery - actually with a finishing touch of bitterness.
