pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Aug 21, 2008 Bottle: Hazy, light amber coloured, quite stable foamy layer; stronger sweetish-fruity (blackcurrant) and slightly malty nose; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft MF; fruity-sweetish (blachcurrant again) and mild sourish finish. A well rounded, unusual Dunkelweizen........... Furseth (1189), Kungälv, Sweden Aug 9, 2008 Bottle: thanx to ulf Rask. Hazy deep red colour, with a huge creamy white head.
Aroma of caramel, malty, coffee, dark- chocolate, som dry fruitynes in the end.
Flavor is almost the same, som banana/fruitynes, and a smooth mouth feeling, thin body, nice thin to medium fruity/yeasty finish. Anice dunkelweizen. MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Jul 10, 2008 (bottle, as “Schwarze Perle”) Hazy, dark amber colour with a big and slightly tanned foamy head. Smells a bit like a dark Belgian Ale: sweet and moderately yeasty and toasty aroma, slightly wheaty with distinctive notes of cassis and dried fruits, accompanied by delicate spicy notes. Light bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a lively carbonation. Toasty wheat-malt character with light notes of cassis and chocolate; moderately dry, just a bit slim, toasty and chocolatey finish. Quite complex and quaffable Dunkelweizen (09.06.08). joss (3249), Garching b. München, Germany Jun 25, 2008 Bottle. Citric and almondy aroma. Hazy red-brown, golden-brown head. Good flavormix - elegant sweet roast, nuts, citric, fermented banana in the background, dry burned bread dryness in the finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Caramel and nuts retronasal. Really nice and interesting Dunkelweizen. kappldav123 (1174), Markkleeberg, Germany Jan 10, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Maybe a little bit light for a dunkelweizen. Smells very malty. And tastes the same. Much too malty, much too dry. Not fruity. Not a good beer.
