Tastes like old and rancid apple cider, some dirtiness, mundane earthiness. I don’t like it.

For all the down-on-the-farm talk on the bottle, this is a Hepworth contract product. Aroma is floral, toasty, and caramel apple. Hazed orange bitter beer look. Tastes loaded with minerals. There’s some bitter hop content as well, but not much. Okay for market brand beer, I also bought the lager.

SphinxTX (2876) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with white head. Aroma has a nice, very light bouquet of caramel, floral and fruity notes. Flavor isn’t much different and very pleasant, just a tiney hint of sweetness with a hint of earthiness and pleasant buy very light bitter finish which balances out very well. Light-Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Overall, a very nice, simple tasty brew with a BIG price tag for what it is....retails around $12 for a 4 pack...seriously??? Hopefully they have some die hard fans!
