COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have collected and grown old traditional hop varieties and selected the best combination of these for their aroma, and balanced them with additional organically grown hops, in this, our first beer. Although we farm under both biodynamic and organic standards, we go much further in our quest to produce the very best hops and barley. Our micro-biology lab continuously tests the soils, adding compost and compost teas so that the biology in the soil has the right proportions of beneficial bacteria and fungi for the hops and barley to be at their best and most flavoursome. This creates the deep flavours of the beer.

Pailhead (3884) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate grass, light grain, and a hint of lemon. It pours a transparent gold with a one finger white head that quickly fades to a thin film that leaves behind some sporadic webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a light dose of sweet grains. The finish is moderate grass and floral bitterness. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Gold with a white head. Nose is light skunk, grain, malts, and crisp. Very smooth on the palate, sweet malts, easy finish, not much here.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with white soapy head. Aroma of grass, grain, malt, hints of floral. Flavor is much the same with a nice malt back bone and very balanced. Mouth feel is light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, not bad at all but over priced at $12.99 per 4 pk.

The aroma is a mix of grassy and grainy elements. The flavor is flavor is similar to the aroma and very beery, with a decent hoppiness in the finish.

Leighton (7183) - London, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2012
Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, light yellow with a small, creamy white head. Some light cereal in the nose with hints of hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with hop bite, mostly of hay with very light metal. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Crisp and refreshing to finish with very mild character. Some light and toasty cereal, biscuits, hay. Very basic overall and somewhat weak in character, but the character that does come through is sound and the beer does refresh.

1/26/12. 12oz bottle. Clear golden pour with a small white head that barely laces. Plain aroma with some corn and a bit of apple. Surprisingly bitter pale malt flavor that shows a touch of corn and diacetyl. Not bad.

PorterPounder (4633) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 25, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 11.2 oz bottle. Light golden sparkling pour, nice bubble action, slight beady white head. Aroma has some grainy cereal notes, a bit of mineral water. Flavor is very mild, slightly buttery, some graininess. Slightly earthy and leaning to the bland side. Mouthfeel is slightly thin. The "organicness" of this really shows through.

[330ml bottle, Waitrose, Edinburgh] Pours a brilliantly clear gold, thin collection of bubbled lacing at the edges of the glass. Grassy, malty, slightly yeasty aroma. Dry and grassy on the palate, leading into an earthy, slightly metallic finish. I can appreciate their ethos, but the beer is pretty much straight down the line [23012012]
