Dulachan is an in-your-face/front-and-center/West-Coast-style American IPA. Brewed with Pale, CaraVienna and Biscuit malts and hopped (and dry hopped) to 70 IBU’s with Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo & Columbus. At only 5.6%ABV, this beer packs a huge hop flavor and aroma without a lot of bite from the bitterness and alcohol. Named after the Irish ’Grim Reaper’, this beer will impress and astound!

bottle @ House of 1000 Beers / New Kensington PA --- Aroma of hops and malt. Cloudy medium amber, bubbly white head that is sloe to recede, sprays of lace. Taste is semi-sweet malt that moves through medium carbonation to solid hops with light citrus overtones. The malt is never shut out, which gives this a profoundly balanced presentation. A totally satisfying brew. I’d like it again, but I also can’t wait to try Lavery’s other selections. High;y recommended.

I first tried this gem at Pinocchio’s in Media, PA, but just had the ultimate beer run. A neighbor’s parents were visiting NJ from Erie, PA this 4th of July weekend, and they delivered! This IPA has a low ABV, but it packs a huge hop punch. It reminds me of the Mad Hatter IPA in terms of its citrus flavor, but it does have an earthiness that is similar to Victory’s Headwaters. BTW, my neighbor’s parents may be switching from (yak) LaBatt Blue to Dulachan IPA. Amazing that they only live a couple of miles from the brewery. Cheers!

Pine, biscuit and a medicinal character on the nose. Appearance is a hazy yellow gold with a white head. Flavor is piney, phenolic, with notes of biscuit and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium with a medium carbonation. Overall, this beer is infected. Not good at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Rams Head. Pour is cloudy yellow lots of head. It has quite a bit of pine, hop, fruit but also some ginger up front or maybe it’s just pungent spice. Nice stuff.
