3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Really outstanding nose. Caramel, cider, brandy. Big barleywine mouthfeel and kick. Sicky sweet. Syrupy. Gingerbread. I like it, but it is a sipper. Got in Erie at Wegman’s.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
love the fact that the 11.5% ABV if virtually undetectable. There is a little bit of a Belgian sweetness toward the middle. Hops show up at the finish along with a fizzy bite...

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Wegmans Williamsport. Pours yellow with a huge amount of white foam. Not a ton on the nose but alcohol. Lots of pineapple on the tongue with a fair amount of bitterness on the finish. Hides the alcohol well but it lacks balance.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy dark gold body with a rather large and active frothy white head that took forever to settle due to the vigorous carbonation level. The nose is fairly funky smelling, a good amount of rustic farmhouse character under a moderate hoppy note. A little yeastiness, a touch of alcohol, straw, and wheat. The flavor isn’t all that hoppy though, especially as it is being billed as such. More pale doughy malt, sweetness, and some spicy notes from both the rye and the yeast. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden thankfully, you can hardly tell this is over 10%, I would have probably guessed 7 or so. A little more residual sweetness than I care for personally, but it’s not terrible. Comes across as closest to a Belgian Triple more than anything as far as style goes. Fairly heavy on the tongue with a clingy finish. Moderate soft carbonation. Not bad, but nothing that I would seek out for a second go-around.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma of pure citrus hops. Grapefruit, apricot and slight cream? Pours light Orange with very little film. Taste is delicious with citrussy hops and a great sourdough Belgian finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Khyber Pass. Cloudy yellow amber pour. Big marsmallow white head. Aroma of caramel coated floral hops. Tastes? Well, tastes like everything. An overhopped Imperial IPA. A reduced German Wit beer. A juicy French Season. A chewy Belgium quad. A Barleywine. All with an unhindered huge alcohol backbone. Disparate notes of: Pinecones. Vanilla caramel. Sulfered apricots. Rosewater. Pink peppercorns. Tang. Lemongrass. Cloves. Orange seeds. Burnt sugar. Juicy Fruit gum. Fizzy palate. Basically a juicy, spicy, orange caramel cordial with a dry finish. Tres Bizarre!
