Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow-Downtown, 12/12/12
Aroma: The nose has caramel notes, earth, some citrus/grapefruit, and a little resin
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish-brown color with a small beige head, and some light drippy lace
Flavor: Similar to the nose and balanced, with a medium sweetness and a light-medium bitterness
Palate: It has a creamy feel, a medium body, average carbonation, and a clean, mildly dry finish
Even though it is 12/12/12, Iím not drinking any Vertical Epics today, but thatíll happen later (Vertical Epic Weekend!). As for this beer, this is plenty solid. Donít let the score fool you, 20 is the style? It is better then that! It is not nearly as dry as the explanation would have lead me to believe, but it has a nice balance and drinks well. Very solid stuff.
