3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 lamas (1201) - Washington DC, USA - APR 13, 2013
22 oz. bottle courtesy of agl108. Mine says 4.5%. A very hazy straw pour with some nasty dark floaties and a thick and fluffy off-white head. The aroma features lots of lemons, zesty citrus rinds, Smarties candy, vinous notes, Brett, a dusty funk, and some wheaty graininess. Goes down thin to medium-bodied and crisp with a high level of effervescence. The taste starts with a sizable wheaty/graininess. Tart citrus fruits follow. Cream and herbal qualities here and there. Sour lemons and some dashes of pepper at the moderately dry end. Just a bit of a musty funkiness throughout. Good flavors for such a low alcohol brew. Solid effort.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2013
From the April 2013 3R6P beer tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky yellow color with an enormous fluffy white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart lemon, Sweettart candies, chalk and a bit of must. The flavor was dry, dusty, musty, yeasty, chalky and had light notes of citrus and Windex. Medium dry chalk, must, citrus and Windex finish. Medium body. Ok.

Trestle Inn, Philadelphia tap ($6): Pours a slightly clouded yellow with a white head. Aroma is funk and plenty of fruitiness. Taste is very substantial considering the low alcohol. Sweet and fruity notes are throughout. Nice funkiness and a good finish. This is a nice saison I never heard of.

22 oz bomber generously shared by beastiefanf2k. The pour is a slightly hazed golden, with a small white that leaves splotchy lacing. The aroma is soft citrus grain, a light earthy leather, and a general warm earth softness that is as all well integrated. The taste leads with the leather notes of the Brett, turning towards the citrus and grain, then the flavor gets floral toward the back. The palate is medium to light bodied, sparkly carbonation and a clean dry finish. Nice one, thanks for sharing Eugene.

22oz bomber split 3 ways. For the life of me I cannot remember where or when I got this bottle but I have been saving it for a little bit of time now, maybe close to a year. I wonder if that accounts for the difference between my score and the average. The beer pours with a slightly hazy golden color and a medium sized head. Aroma is dry and herbal with bitter floral aspects - to me this is all brett. Its very well done, lively and bright, loving it. Flavor is similar, a little more heft to it and a smidgen less brightness but very nice indeed. I think this is exceptionally executed and a 4.4 beer to boot. This is very similar to Beer Table Table Beer. Would love to drink this again.

Bottle from Wegmans. Pours hazy yellow-orange with a finger of well-retained white head, decent lacing. The aroma is certainly funky.. with some lemon zest, some coriander. The taste is very dry with some orange peel, peppercorn, grass, lemon, funk. For a low ABV saison, this guy is nice. I’ll have to get a bottle to age.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DocLock (6789) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Bottles from Capone’s and Smith’s. Pours turbid canary with 1-finger fluffy white head that laces well and a high level of carbonation. This one looks great. Nose is limey citrus, mild but assertive funky yeasty malt, apricotty fruit. Tastes citric, spicy, dry, with limey citrus, white peppery dry coriandery spice, and mild funky yeasty esters. This one is solid.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 PhillyCraft (1971) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2012
On tap at Bainbridge Street Barrel house, pours a slighty clear, well carbonated golden color with thick soapy head that was lasting. Aromas of brett, lemons, wood, and belgian spices. Taste of wild yeast, and fruits, berries, wood, lemons, and light tartness. Real nice creaminess in the flavor from the barrel. I could drink pints of this and I usually don’t say that about saisons. Excellent

Bottle. Funky brett aroma. Body is hazy yellow with tall lasting head. Flavor begins light with hints of malts, corn and hops. Quickly followed by yeasty tart bite. Notes of spice and fruit with a bitter aftertaste.
