Deceiving dark malt lacks any roastiness or body. Nice head, no flavor. Dry through and through. Needs more complexity.

11/8/13. 22oz bottle shared by Cody during the Westbrook event at Sweet Grass - thanks, dude! Dark pour with a fizzy khaki head that’s gone fast - overcarbonated for sure. Mild chocolate and coffee on the aroma, not much oak or aspects from it, an acidic aspect hinting towards sour... Thin, mild flavor, some chalky dark chocolate, rye bite, not much oak, also hinting at sour. Overcarbonation and hints of sourness make me wonder if this one is getting infected...

Pours dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty with mild coffee and tobacco notes. Flavor follows suit and adds nice rye notes...spicy and nice burnt notes..oaky. Mouthfeel is light/medium and lively with a burnt/bitter dry very roasty/oaky finish.
