COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the Irish legend of the Jack O Lantern. Brewed with Pumpkins and Spices. Subtle spicing to make sure you can enjoy more than 1 pint per session. A drier version of your standard Pumpkin ale, ours is not cloyingly sweet. A nice toasty/biscuity flavor from the American pale ale malt, slight hop bitterness from Northern Brewer and our house yeast blend that leaves slightly fruity esters. Formerly known as Lavery Stingy Jack Pumpkin Ale.

Interesting pumpkin. Light, sweet flavor with biscuit and bread. Given the glut of similar pumpkins, a nice different taste.

Pours a cloudy burnt orange, with a quickly disappearing tan head. Smells of Strong pumpkin with typical pumpkin pie type spices. But the real Strength of this brew is the Taste. Full bodied with good sweet smooth finish. Like pumpkin pie, a good dessert beer with a creamy body. Itís Not my Favorite Pumpkin Ale (Weyerbacher) But its probably top 5.

Shared by Jeff at the RB Cleveland tasting, this beer leaves me wanting more, but thats not the point, i wanted it to be like pumking, but instead we get a mild mannered pumpkin with limited spice which matches the brewers intent nicely, just doesnt fit what iíd want in a pumpkin beer.

Thanks to Jeff for picking this up (in Buffalo I think). An interesting release it continues the trend of palatable but unremarkable releases from Lavery. They do have a few others which look interesting I may get to at some point but as of yet I have nothing that makes me want to stop in Erie next time I find myself in the region.

Aroma / Appearance - The radiant orange body and crisp thin white head look like a piece of pie with a moderate coating of whipped cream. Sweet sensations like nutmeg and cinnamon spice up the air along with that smell that comes from a huge pile of whipped cream.

Flavor / Palate - Light on the spices this is somewhere in the middle of the pumpkin spectrum. Pie crust, sweet cinnamon, and then a light layer of toppings recreate the feel of late autumn. Overall this isnít bad but I find myself thinking of some other better seasonals instead.

22oz. Bottle (at 7.5%ABV per the Bottle): Aroma of malt, pumpkin, spice, nutmeg, and allspice. Poured deep orange in color with a tiny, tan head that disappeared immediately, except for around the edges. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Full of small-sized, particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, pumpkin, spice, nutmeg, sourdough pretzel, and grain. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Mal, pumpkin, spice finish is lightly dry. 7.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

The pour was a nice brown, but thatís about where the quality ended for me. I tasted a hint of pumpkin but was overwhelmed by other bitter spices that left a sour taste in my mouth. Would not recommend this beer.

Very nice mellow Pumpkin beer, plenty of spices, cloves and nutmeg, but not too much. Nice orangish slightly cloudy amber with nice head and fragrance. Bottle from Grazianoís pizza, Lawrenceville, PA

Meh...a boring and weird pumpkin beer. Aroma was weak. Nutmeg and other pumpkin spices are present but distant. You have to search for it. Pour was a nice deep cloudy brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was malt driven. Caramel malt in the front with a weird sourness coming in and out. After the swallow, the weak spices came out. Toasted flavors came out as well. Donít know where the sour flavor came from but it detracted from the beer. Decent carbonation. Sub par

Poured at Elusian Great Pumpkin Fest. Pours light orange with a white hue and se white bubbles for the head. Nose of slight pumpkin, caramel malt, slight spice (nutmeg, Ginger, and allspice), and biscuit. Taste is biscuity/toast, slight hops, caramel malt, and pumpkin flesh. Mouthfeel was slightly watery. Decent pumpkin ale.

I love, love, love this beer. It smells AMAZING! Bringing in all the smells of the season...pumpkin, nutmeg...a spicy smell with a satisfying taste thatís just right...not too overwhelming.
