Sample at Kurtkeller 017: Pumpkin-tastic 02 on 10/13/2014. Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Medium-bodied with flavors of pumpkin spices and bready malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon and biscuit malt. The finish is sweet with a spice and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Wegmanís Collegeville. Pours turbid dark ruddy orangy brown with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is intense fresh pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, graham crackers. Tastes rich, complex, with a fresh pumpkin taste that has that slight vegatal flavor and not an oversweet or fake pumpkin flavor, plus malt, biscuity graham crackers, and a good but not overwhelming amount of spiciness. This one is delicious.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: † Dark caramel, very thick and dirty, soft spritzy off-white head, little lacing. † Strong nose of brown sugar, followed by clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and subtle allspice. † The aroma reminds me of a pumpkin candle I once bought, lots of brown sugar in the aroma. † Somewhat of an earthy start, sweet, brown sugar, with softer spices than most others. † Falls a bit flat on the tongue, with a lighter body and mouthfeel that I would have liked. † Finishes with a slight herbal, earthy, vegetable like spicing. † Not as bright as the nose suggested, and even then that wasnít too bright. † Decent, albeit a different kind of Pumpkin Ale. † Lots of Brown sugar and earthy spice notes.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: NOV 9, 2014 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with a small foamy dark tan head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The flavor was bitter with a bit of vinegar, moderate notes of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon and was lacing a malt base to subdue the spice. Medium dry spice finish. Undercarbonated, Disappointing.

This poured a dark orange with a beige head. Aroma was of light roast, pumpkin, and dark fruits. Flavor was bland caramel malt, lacking in distinct spice, but not over the top sweet.

Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, pumpkin, spice, nutmeg, sourdough pretzel, and grain. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Mal, pumpkin, spice finish is lightly dry. 7.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep dark brown coloured body, very hazy with a thick, fast-dying two centimetre tan head. Aroma of squash (tons of it), allspice, canella, cloves and a bit of candied ginger, all with a bunch of malt and alcohol as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive spicey flavour with a noticeable squash bite and a little alcohol and malt on the backend, but most of the flavours are within the first second or two. Aftertaste is mild and only showing a minor amount of the tastes - not much at all to savour. Overall, a pretty substandard pumpkin beer, with perhaps a nicer nose than usual, but the taste and palate disappoint. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Wegmanís in Malvern, Pennsylvania on 22-September-2012 for US$5.99 sampled at home in Washington on 08-October-2012.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Capones. Poured a chunky orange brown with a long lasting average sized creamy light beige head. Aroma is a bit weak, notes of pumpkin spice, cinnamon and nutmeg, lots of biscuit and grains. Full body with a creamy overall feel and light to average small bubbly carbonation. Flavor is a step up from the aroma with notes light chocolate, grains, cereal malts, lighter spice than the aroma, pumpkin. Not bad.
