Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jun 22, 2005 Hmmmm, I don’t know what to make of this beer as it tastes and smells of nothing for the most part. I detected a passing hoppy floral note or two in the tasting, but overall, this was one of the most boring beers I have tasted in a while. Finish is watery with a passive hop note. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Dec 16, 2005 Bottle. Dark amber color with a moderate rocky white head that diminished slowly and produced fair lacing. Moderate malty aroma. Medium body with a watery texture. Medium malty flavor with a small bitter finish. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 6, 2005 Amber pour with aroma of caramel malt, toffee, some cabernet. Light palate, with unappealing balance and a lack of complexity. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 18, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was brown malt and grassy. The crisp and clean mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of Irish red malt. A decent one, thin but not one that I would consider buying again. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Dec 14, 2003 Poured burnt orange with virtually no head. It has a musty, yeasty aroma. Sweet, fruity flavor with a hint of peach? Flat. An odd creation. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Oct 20, 2006 Bottle. Very small ivory head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, visible carbonation, transparent, and an orange-red hue. Nose was malty, toffee and some caramel. Flavor was malty, caramel and a lot of toffee. Tingly mouthfeel and light body. Nothing to write home about with this one. It was drinkable, but nothing really to knock your socks off. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Oct 22, 2005 In the bottle from a $4.99 sixer. You get what you pay for. The boys a Gluek are remarkable at putting beer into a great diversity of packages. When I visited the brewery, they took me through the warehouse where the empty pallates of cans were held. I saw names of brands that I never knew existed. Lawson’s is sort of like this. It’s not really red. Sort of a pale amber. It’s not really beer. Sort of like tapwater. Slight caramel aroma, but don’t read too much into that either. The Gluek beers don’t ever get too much better, so this is pretty standard stuff for them.
