Available at Kroger at bargain basement prices, my Dad bought all four Lawson Creek varieties to try them out. This wasn"t bad, but it was obvious that the ’flavor’ had been added after brewing by some unnatural process. The thought isn"t a bad one, but the execution seems syrupy sweet and sticky. Better than having to drink a macro, but a poor excuse for an Ale. Dogbrick (2925), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Light amber orange color with a blink-and-you-miss-it medium off-white head and nil lacing. Light roasted malt aroma. Light body with a vaguely sweet flavor of malt, along with a little fruit. The flavor falls off fast though. The finish is crisp and has a touch of hops. Pretty much what you would expect from Gluek. This is basically a Killian’s-type beer that isn’t offensive, yet does not really offer much. TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 11, 2003 The name and price ($4+change for a sixer) caught my eye at the store. Pours a cloudy, orangish-copper with a decent head. The flavor and aroma remind me of warm apple cider. I want to try their other offerings but this was only a so-so beer. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 20, 2006 Bottle. Very small ivory head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, visible carbonation, transparent, and an orange-red hue. Nose was malty, toffee and some caramel. Flavor was malty, caramel and a lot of toffee. Tingly mouthfeel and light body. Nothing to write home about with this one. It was drinkable, but nothing really to knock your socks off. dkachur (2445), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Thanks for the beer and the dire warnings regarding said beer. Pours a slightly hazy reddish copper color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma is nutty with big caramel notes. Very malty taste with lots of nutty grainy notes and faint leafy hop and tea like notes. Subtle raisin as well. Medium bodied. Could stand to have a bit more complexity but not all that bad. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 14, 2006 Not a bad beer at all, It has a satifying some-what woody taste, an ok amount of head, not a lot of lacing, Decent price for a good solid "red" ale, not really worth trying at all... ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Aug 2, 2003 Had a few bottles if this last night. Pours a medium sparkling orange. The off-white slightly creamy head is instantly diminishing and has virtually no lacing. The nose is actually the highlight of this experience, dried figs and flowers remind me of well brewed bitters. The flavor does not. Taste is lacking ... starts and ends sweet ... no balance or depth ... not offensive but has about as much character as a parking meter. The light and creamy body is lively and feels metallic and alcoholic at the finish. Not as bad as their Vanilla Coke, I mean Stout, but not much better. Cold lagered Red Ale, isn't that an oxymoron? | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 7, 2005 Poured light red with a light offwhite head. Aroma wasn’t much. Very light malt. This was extremely light on the palate for a red ale and fairly weak just like the pale ale I tried last night. Not much flavor or aroma to this beer. I tried one so I could rate it but after that I left the rest in the fridge for my brother-in-law.
