My first LL, thanks John. Black IPA with a good roasting aroma, black bodied wth a big bubbly head. Medium mouthfeel. Not aggressive, more like a black ale with significant hopping.

Bomber from Winooski Beverage Warehouse: Nearly black, thin tan head. Citrus filled hop aroma with some resinous pine notes. Dry, moderate bitterness. Some faint mineral-earth like flavors lead into a big grapefruit hoppiness. Good rendition of the style.

Deep black pour with a tight tab head. The aroma is great. Loads of fresh earthy/citrusy hops along with some heavy cocoa and roasted malt notes. Assertive bitterness and a long lingering floral/citrus hop flavour. The roasted note really makes an appearance in this one. I dig it - although I think the roast could be dialed back.

Bottle at Paul’s. Dark chocolate pour. Aroma has notes of perfume, flowers, and orange. Hop heavy flavor with plenty of citrus and perfume. Minimal chocolate malt flavor. Perfume is prominent in the finish. This is an IPA first and foremost, and I prefer that to overhopped porters.

Bomber thanks to Arbitrator. OMG rare, it says it on the bottle! Dark brown in color with a large cascading tan head. Good lacing. Earthy hop aroma, with wet leaves and some substantial roasty notes. Roasty flavor with slight bitter cocoa along with citrusy and earthy hops. Rather bitter. Medium-bodied and dry as hell, very resinous, with softer carbonation. Pretty nice IBA, but I’ve certainly had better as of late.

Bottle from hbmason! Pours a dark brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma has roast, dank resiny hops and pine. Taste is semi-sweet and bitter. Thin bodied with a dry finish. One of the better examples of the style.

Finally opened this up hopefully it hasn’t fallen off. Enjoyed in a standard pint glass with buddies at around 40 degrees F. Almost midnight black, solid head that stuck around for a while..maybe my glass wasn’t clean? Smell is very roasty with tangerines and nuts. Taste is roasted malts, hint of chocolate, nuts like almonds and a mild bitterness. Pine and Citrus hop flavors and some oakyness at the finish.

Bottle. rare batch79 bottle 50. Pours black with a tan head that left spotty lacing. Roasty earthy hoppy aroma. Flavor was roasted barley with citrus zest, grassy hops, pine and had a touch of caramel with a smooth & creamy finish.
