4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 VTHopHead (1331) - Barre, USA - FEB 15, 2010
Bottle/22 - Picked this one up close to the source... at the Warren Store, Warren, VT... the only place where you can buy bottles of this "liquid gold". Poured a slightly hazy orange amber in color with a small whitish head that settled to a thin covering over the beer. Aroma is strong of both citrus and pine resin hops along with just a hint of some malt understructure. Flavor is intensely hoppy with lots of initial citrus hop flavor followed up with some piney hop resins and then the bitterness. The initial taste is surprisingly sweet, but that quickly gets overwhelmed by the hops. Not really that balanced, but if you know me, then you know that I don’t really care... this one is a hop lover’s dream beer. I would like to see Sean kick this recipe up to see what an Imperial version of this would taste like... Another awesome brew from this excellent brewer!!

Bottle shared at the 2011 BA SJ gathering. Poured a hazy gold/orange body with a white bubbly head. Aroma of tangerine, honey, bread and tropical fruit. Medium bodied with a slight dry bitter finish and average to stronger carbonation. Flavor of dry cirus, rind, tangerine, tropical fruit and toast. God stuff.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pineypower (1730) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - NOV 6, 2011
Thanks to InspectorBob for sharing this at SJ BA gathering. Pours out a clear moderate golden color with a small white head. Aroma is of light citrus hops, some sweet malts and some pine. Taste is more pronounced than the aroma, some nice citrusy grapefruit hops, light pine, light malty balance and a nice bitter finish.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 callmemickey (702) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Batch 121 / Bottle 2
A: Nice medium-amber body. Crystal clear with lively carbonation running from the bottom. Large white head. Good retention and a healthy dose of sheet-like lacing.
S: Lots of grapefruit. Bitter. Nice resinous pine notes complement the grapefruit well. Only the slightest hints of caramel malts.
T: While quite nice, the taste falls off from the standard the nose sets. Bitter graperfruit for sure, perhaps a tad too bitter considering the somewhat straightforward flavor profile of grapefruit and resinous pine.
M: Crisp, medium bodied with rolling carbonation throughout. Healthy dose of bitterness in the finish.
O: If you like your bitter grapefruit hops, this is a beer you should check out. Well masked ABV. Two thumbs up.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 popery (1014) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 28, 2011
Excellent IPA. The beer pours golden with a nice white head. Aroma is grapefruit, pineapple, pine and marijuana. It’s a much more nuanced hop aroma than expected from a single hop Chinook beer. Taste is medium bitter and mildly dry. Some light caramel malt presence, but it’s really about the hops. A very pleasant surprise.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MrChopin (2060) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 30, 2010
Taste thanks to Brad! light amber gold, thin bubbly oil white head. Lightly bitter, ouzo and weed nose, a long bitterness in the flavor with some grapefruit, biscuit, and milky grain on the finish, bit of inky newspaper as well. Oily and coating, nicely balanced and stinging the palate.
