Great stuff. Pours a pitch black with really nice 2 finger mocha head. Aroma is roast, coffee, chocolate, and mollases. Palate is a bit thin and watery but taste is very good with rich roasty malts and a nice light sweetness and dry ashy finish. Loved it.

750, very roasty and dark with a dark tan head. Sweetish stout, maple flavors, hoppy flavors and bitter finish.

Pours black in color with a surprisingly tall tan head. Smells strong of booze, roasted malt, char, and even a bit of ash. There is some dark chocolate and coffee, but they’re not as prominent as I would like. The flavor is more of the same. A bit of a coffee grounds flavor as well as some bitter dark chocolate, licorice, and roasted malt. The flavor is a bit too astringent for my liking. Medium body and carbonation.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Damico (1216) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Pours deep dark coffee black in color with a decent caramel head and fair lacing. The aroma is sweet and dry roasted malt notes, crisp and smooth. The flavor brings sweet, roasted, and smooth boozy malt notes on a medium body with light sweet milky notes to end. The alcohol is so light in this version, almost not there, so smooth.

Bottle from hbmason...thanks Tim! - Pours real black with a thin ring of tan head. Nose is super roasty, with charcoal and tar notes, ashy and dry with a bit of sharp heat. Taste is a bit of ashy charcoal, really smooth and roasty with sweet honey notes. Transitions into a real smooth roast that lasts through the finish. Big, thick, and smooth carbonation. Much drier and roastier than I expected, and I didn’t pick up any maple on this at all. I doubt anyone would if this was tasted blind.

Bottle shared by Jcwattsrugger. Pours black with mud coffee brown head. Nose/taste of maple, roasted chocolate malt, vanilla and coffee. Good roast character in the taste. Mouth feel starts creamy with a dry cocoa finish. More maple in the nose than taste, but it’s definitely there. Alcohol is completely hidden. Medium body.

Bottle… Pours pitch black with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Great retention. The bouquet is milky chocolaty and nutty – big cocoa, toasted nuts and light vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and subdued carbonation. The flavor presents sweetened espresso and dark cocoa. Very roasty and burnt. Finishes bittersweet and carbonaceous. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!
