750 ml bottle. 2012 vintage. Shared with friends at Phatdog1’s house. Served only slightly chilled. Thick tan head when you swirl the stout around in the snifter. Dies to a thing ring after sitting. Chocolate malts sit on top of maple and molasses aroma. Taste is a smooth and roasty with the maple coming through more as sugar sweetness.. I would never pick out maple in this stout. Light smoke and ash notes. The body is a bit leaner then I was hoping for in a big imperial stout. The alcohol is total masked at this point. I’m wondering how much this changed over time because I never had it fresh. Anyhow, the stout in front of me is nice.

Thanks to Jason! Pours über dark black with a tan head. Certainly I get maple syrup, dark malt, licorice. The taste follows the nose with some char and dryness which works well with the maple flavors and nice dry ending. Medium body and decent carbonation - a bit thin for any imperial stout. A very nice beer.

Intensiver malziger Antrunk, röstig, schokoladig. Trocken. Röstiger werdend, herb, erdig, Vanillenoten. Wenig aber erkennbar alkoholisch, einen Ticken süßer zum Ende. 11/12/12/12/11/12

Bomber poured into Lawson’s snifter. Jet black with a small mocha head that sticks around. Smell is bourbon, oak, vanilla, tobacco, chocolate. Taste is tobacco, chocolate, and char/roast. Alcohol is not present which is impressive for a 10%+ beer. Great stout, special thanks to Nick for picking thus up for me at the farmer’s market last April.

750ml bottle, left overs from the 2013 Culmination Fest. Pours black with a thick foamy tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, maple, black roasted malt and some smokey char. Flavor is bitter cocoa, strong roasted/burnt malt, light maple sweetness and some alcohol heat. Full body with prickly carbonation. Pretty good, the roasted malt is very strong and brings the drinkability down for me.

Bottle. Black pour with a thick, very dark tan head that slowly craters out into the glass. Aroma is clean, dry roast, chocolate, cocoa powder, maple, and perhaps some darker raisin notes. Taste is chocolate and clean roast with complimentary maple giving way to heavier malt toward the finish and then . . . poof, it quickly finishes with a light puff of cocoa and hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is very interesting - light and airy in some spots and a more substantial and coating and others. Well made beer. Very nice.

Bottle shared by beace at one of the events (2011, notes). Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. The aroma and flavor have intense roasted malt and coffee, caramel, surprisingly the maple is very subtle, this really comes off as a fairly well done imperial stout, but not a gimmicky maple thing. The abv shows a touch, but this is pretty good.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits and caramel - not really getting any of the maple. Flavour brings out heavy roasted malt upfront, some dry wood, and a hint of the maple sweetness. Heavily roasted with a dry body. Almost no hint of maple at all, surprisingly. Low drinkability but pleasant flavours . Good stuff.

Heavy thick syrupy. Color is very dark. Nose is of roasted coffee and chocolate, maple syrup. Taste is much the same as the nose. It is a bit sweet for me but not horribly. I wouldn’t want an entire bottle to myself again.
