750mL bottle, #20/72. Poured very near black with just about as much dark tan sitting on top. The aroma picked up maple, maple, and more maple, with vanilla and sweeter chocolates accenting.. a little peppery alcohol and greener hoppage on the back of the nose.. more green and a touch buttery right on the back.. all in all very enjoyable. The flavor was also centered around the maple, with chocolate and molasses down there too.. peppery alcohol and some green, slightly buttery notes around.. the sweetness still stood out, and I really dug it. Heavier-bodied with low-moderate carbonation on the palate.. sticky and surprisingly hopped, but I enjoyed it.. excellent beer!

Bottle # 20/72, big, big thanks to Jason, big want of mine. Thick oily black pour with tan head, lacing well with nice alcohol legs. Aroma has notes of big maple, sweet caramel notes, chocolate/coffee notes with more maple. Wow, the maple jumps out like crazy. Big maple and dark fruit, some notes of toffee, vanilla, chocolate, with big chocolate and maple in the finish. Wow, I love these types of beers, and this beer hit the maple to a tee. Awesome.

750mL C&C courtesy of noodleuser. The pour is a dark brown to near black with a deep tan, sheen head. Nose upfront is full of olives and saltwater along with mild apple/acetaldehyde. As it warms, the nose gains smoke, bacon, rich caramel. Much better. The taste is olive, salty/briny, lemony tart finishing with carbon paper and cardboard. No maple character.

Bottle shared by noodleuser: Pours an oily opaque with a spotty-lacing dark tan head. Has a lightly sweet dark caramel and chocolate nose with a unique mild maple complexity. Starts with pretty good chewy rich fullness and a touch of smoke with subtle maple oak and dark chocolate in the finish. An enjoyable and unique imperial stout.
