4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: APR 18, 2015 Thanks to Adrian. Dark, foamy pour and a cool, old school label. I am upping my rating after having some on draft at the Trevere. Apparently this is made with maple sap added to the brew kettle, and the result is wonderful! The aroma is roasty, sweet, and full of grain and maple. The taste is smoky and malty, with lots of fresh maple flavor. There is also a little limey tang, molasses, and pumpernickel. It doesn’t get overbearing thou - stays fresh and delicious to the last drop. An awesome brew, and so far as I know, a unique one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle share, thanks guys. Pour is dark brown/pretty close to black with a small tan head that darkens into a slight orange as it dissipates. Aroma is of roasted coffee, burnt chocolate, earth, and espresso. Flavor is of burnt wood, ash, very bitter chocolate, and some slight sweetness from the maple. Alcohol is there but hidden well, not too complex but still good. Medium to heavy bodied.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Blind bottle shared. By Barrythebear, thanks Barry. Little smoke or roast there but no maple that I could pick up. I liked this but after knowing what it is I wished there was more maple.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle that poured a mildly thick black sludge, aromas of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and a smidge of maple syrup. Flavor is bitter burnt coffee, choclate, some nuts, and more maple flavor than expected as the aroma led me to belive. Outstanding brew!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great stuff. Pours a pitch black with really nice 2 finger mocha head. Aroma is roast, coffee, chocolate, and mollases. Palate is a bit thin and watery but taste is very good with rich roasty malts and a nice light sweetness and dry ashy finish. Loved it.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours black in color with a surprisingly tall tan head. Smells strong of booze, roasted malt, char, and even a bit of ash. There is some dark chocolate and coffee, but they’re not as prominent as I would like. The flavor is more of the same. A bit of a coffee grounds flavor as well as some bitter dark chocolate, licorice, and roasted malt. The flavor is a bit too astringent for my liking. Medium body and carbonation.
