2013-02-22. Lightly hazy bright orange small off-white head. 3+ Hoppy aroma, bit of cat pee, orange rind, celery. Flavour is a bit more citrusy, light leafy notes and celery. Average bodied palate. Moderate carbonation. Decent but the hop character is a bit odd. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

Bottle. Pours a golden-peach with a small ring of foam. Aroma is powerful hops, a mix of onion and pine dankness with tangerine and citrus peel. Taste is very pine forward with a slight citrus acidity. As per Lawson’s hoppy offering, it is extremely bitter, even more so than the best Vermont’s IPA (Heady topper and hill Farmstead). Full bodied and very dense. This a top tier IPA, I didn’t even noticed it was 6 months old before someone told me, It held up very well.

My bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o Glouglouburp. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a large lasting fizzy white head. Aroma of catty and citrusy hops, it’s all hops really. Flavour is fruity and citrusy along with lots of slightly catty and resiny hops and a touch of alcohol. Dry, bitter finish. Medium bodied. A pretty good DIPA indeed, and somewhat easy to drink for a big beer.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 boFNjackson (3580) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 12, 2012
Bottle... Poured golden/orange with a moderate white head. Very nice, earthy and vibrant citrus hop characters. So much hop flavor without being overly bitter or unbalanced. Pine, floral and herbal tones, mild malt, but mostly a hop bomb here.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 PhatB420 (468) - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 9, 2012
22oz bomber into a stemmed NOHO brewery vast dipa glass. Brought in via kellys package store in Dalton , MA and initially sampled at their mega beer class on 12/6/12. Wow, this is it, but a 2nd place to the heady topper imho. Fresh hops bursting through the first whiff, and the taste is the same, with an abundance of the hops flying around. Taste is sweet, tangerine at times, sugar malts, canteloupe, grapefruit, and then hops all over. So nice, i wish i had a candle of this stuff. Bright orange broned shades omit from the glass, head it tiny but doesnt leave anything behind. An easy and welcoming visit to the palate each sip, this is such a treat. wont find this again around these parts of MA. "straight from the green mountains to your head" is right for this hop head. The sweetness sticks around, rounded out by the hops stance on things and the malts second guessing. This is exceptional.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mcberko (4056) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 4, 2012
22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks so much, Dany!), pours a beautiful mostly clear dark golden with a small white head. Nose is full-on piney hops, coniferous tree, and resin, with little malt backbone. Flavour brings out loads of dry coniferous, loads of piney and resinous hops, light citrus and grapefruit notes, and a light toasted malt backbone that only provides support to the hops. Refreshing fruity notes along with dry piney hops linger on the mouthfeel, almost providing a puckering tartness but it’s really just the dry fruitiness. Amazingly complex for a IIPA with very high drinkability. Awesome stuff.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 callmemickey (1355) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2012
On tap at Prohibition Pig in Waterbury. Hazy orange head, moderate off-white head, streaky lacing. Nose is piney with some orange peel and grapefruit. Flavor shows increased pine and resin complemented by some citric notes including orange and grapefruit. Fuller bodied, moderate carbonation, assertive bitterness, lingering finish. Quite nice.

22oz bottle pours a slightly hazy orange with a sudsy white head. Nose of pine needles, perfume, grapefruit zest, orange zest, key limes, scallions. Flavor is sweet, spicy, garlic, scallion, very oniony, lime, grapefruit zest. Full, bitter, zesty finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 piscator34 (1798) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 25, 2012
Bottled sample. Vibrant orange in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of juicy orange, pine needles, resin, and a bit of caramel. It’s a similar story in the mouth, with more sweet citrus, pine, and malt all blending together with a bit of a grassy note coming to the party as well. Solid bitterness and heavy bodied (but not overly sweet) for the style.
