3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black as the night, dense cappuccino foam. Subdued aroma of maple syrup, oak, crystallized chocolate, and roasted malt. Creamy, smooth, mild carbonation, and full-bodied. Somewhat lacking in complexity

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle scored at the 420 release earlier this year, emptied into a Lawson’s snifter. Pours dark black with small khaki/stone head. Aroma of fudge, coffee, wood, malt, and light char. Flavor is roasted malt, barrel, local syrup, chocolate covered caramels, and booze. A little bit hot and overly roasty for me...thought the bourbon barrel version on tap was smoother and had more depth. Also doesn’t have as much maple in it as you would hope in the flavor but it sure is sticky on the palate. Medium to fuller body with light carb...as it warmed some maple came out but not enough. Good but not great.

Liked this version better. IT is even drier (really love this aspect) smells like chocolate ice cream. I feel like it has a bti more maple.

12.7 oz. bottle, sent from Chippo33 (thanks a lot, Paul), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of maple syrup upfront, caramel, and subdued roasted malt. Flavour is much more maple-dominated than the base beer, with loads of maple syrup, caramel and subdued roasted malt. Way more maple-y than the base beer, making it a touch cloying. Good stuff, but I much prefer the regular base beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by Seth. Black pour with a mocha head. Maple and wood aromas. Tons of maple, booze, and caramel malt notes with bitter roasted malt and toffee undertones. Decent body and mouthfeel. A bit of heat from all the maple syrup I suppose.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma of roast coffee, molasses, and slight burnt caramel. Pours black with no head. Taste is super dark and roasty. As it warms, some sweet maple caramel shows. Very great stout.

Nicely carbonated. The head is a sticky cream like brown and lightly divides the deep dark liquid in my glass. The aroma is rich. I noticed roasted dark malts, maybe chocolate coated malts, sugary maple, and an oak aging scent. As for flavor I could taste everything I picked on in the scent. The texture was very creamy. The after taste is of roasted malts, lite chocolate malts, with weak maple notes, oak, and a medium lvl of bitterness. The potency of the maple did not hold to my desired affection. This was a very relaxing beverage. Overall I enjoy this brew from Sean. Its worth trying if you haven?t had. I recommend aging this.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Stouts Tasting Pt II. The pour’s deep ruddy brown with a tiny head. The nose is caramel, candy corn, cotton candy, prunes. Quite sweet indeed. Rich toffee. The taste is more prunes. Red fruits. Toasted woody. Caramel, chewy malts. Slightly woody finish. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Overall, not the most sophisticated of beers. Still, pretty tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle #157/180 at THE stouts tasting part 2, thanks to Ken. It pours opaque deep brown with a small light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, maple, pleasant sweetness and not much else... The taste is roasty, maple syrup, toast, wood, earth, nice bitterness, chocolate and alcohol warmth. Full body, moderate carbonation and viscous mouth-feel. Not a whole lot of complexity, but rather drinkable stuff.
