Batch 186, bottle number 122 thanks to womencantsail. Pours with an amber hued body with a small white head. Aromas of maple, wet dog, damp, slightly stale grain, musty, light melanoidins and some esters. Flavors are bitter, grainy, fruit. Esters and maple. Medium to sweet finish. Average carbonation. Dry.

A: The beer pours amber in color with an off-white head. S: Sweet maple and bread are pretty much it on this one. It’s exceedingly simple. There might be a touch of apple and pear, maybe some woody notes and toffee. T: Like the nose, most of the character is just sweetness. A fair bit of sugar, toffee, and brown sugar with perhaps some toasted bread. Despite being so high gravity, it’s a little bit watery. M: Medium in body with medium carbonation. O: Nothing offensive or repulsive, just boring, bland, and uninteresting.

bottle at 5k tasting - amber golden pour. lots of maple syrup and brown sugar, and grains. Overcarbonated too. Not that great, unfortunately.

Bottle obtained in vermont. Amber brown pour with some light head. Aroma has some light maple, sweet bready tones and darker sugar tones. Flavor is sweet malt and some lighter maple tones, with a touch of warmth.

Gift from Paul. Batch 63... bottle 12. Hazy orange in color. Decent head. funky aroma of some hops (pine) apple juice and some syrup. Taste is like maple syrup. Malty...rich...Reminds me of pancakes or waffles... Not bad, different. As it warmed up... tasted like more apple juice? Unique, thats for sure... Medium, kind of sticky body. Overall: Enjoyed it. But didnt want to drink a whole bottle of it. Thanks Paul!

Bottle shared by JCB at the end of the night of a great tasting. This beer sucked. We all expected it to be a little better as this brewery had been hyped up in recent months but this beer definitely displayed characters of suckiness. Sweet, and slightly corny and grainy at times. Just bad. Still would like to try the ipa’s from these guys.

Bomber from a trade on BA - thanks! Deep into the evening by the time this one was cracked. Dirty brown pour, rocky carbonation. Sharp malty nose with a slightly ashy, grainy note in there - maybe burnt syrup? Body is medium, sort of prickly carbonation. Taste is bitter grains and brown sugar, like something from a failed cooking tryout at the IHOP.

Served in a snifter. Pours a moderate copper color with a half-finger of white head. A moderate amount of a white head and a bit of a thin collar as it goes down. The nose brings some slight maple character. Very faint indeed. There is a bit of sweet grain and some brown sugar there as well. The taste is slight molasses and brown sugar in addition to a bit of maple character. Medium body with pretty good carbonation. Not my favorite Lawson’s beer, though glad I got to pick this bottle up. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-19-2010

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber brown with a near white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma is a bit thin with a sweet grain and fruit note as well as a hint of caramel. Flavor is thin as well with sweet grains some fruit and a bit of caramel and maple in the finish. The lack of maple really let me down.

Thanks to Sean for this 22oz bottle poured in a perfect pint glass... This pours a clear medium copper with about a full finger of off white head. Good retention leaves a solid ring, ok lacing... the aroma is light and sweet. Maple is the main note throughout, also some honey. Boring... The taste is borderline bad slight maple, stale wet grains, medicinal and flat. This just doesn’t taste very good, not appealing or new. I had a tough time drinking my pour.
