A cask of Local Potion, dry-tipped and naturally carbonated in the firkin with one of Greg’s favorite Vermont ingredients, spring tips of the Red Spruce (Picea rubens) tree! Tapped at Session 2 of the 2010 edition of the Vermont Brewers Festival.

An amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a light chalky sweet malt with light pinhey hops. In mouth, a sweetish oily malt with British pinhey hops, alcohol, nice and smooth. Medium bodied. On tap at VT Brewers Fest, July 17 2010.

On tap at 2010 Vermont Brewers Festival
Appearance : Hazy amber with a small head.
Aroma : Fruity and sugary. A bit piny and spicy. Some spruce but not too much.
Taste : Quite woody and spicy. Nice malt. Some spruce. Finish rather dry.
Overall : Nice beer. Quite drinkable and rather refreshing. Spruce was not too intense. Felt well balanced. Interesting !
