Bottle. Pours opaque black, medium creamy dark brown head, good lacing. Aroma is chocolate, maple, rum. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, roasty, rum and maple syrup, cocoa and molasses. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty damn good.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a black color with a quickly dissipating off white to tan head that left no lacing. The smell had sweet maple rolling into the subtle sweet milk chocolate and roasty to bitter coffee tones. The taste was semi-sticky sweet through the combination of the maple and the milk chocolate. Boozy heat is mild, but there. Dry milk chocolate aftertaste with a robust semi-sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice sticky sipping quality about it. Carbonation feels good allowing the stickiness from the maple hit my tongue nicely, almost cloying, but tame. Overall, really awesome Imperial Stout that I would love to have again.

Bottle at THT. Black with light brown bubbly head. Sweet chocolate, rum, lots of spices, vanilla, licorice, cinnamon buns, molasses. Quite sweet with a nice roasted bitter finish. Full bodied with sticky feel and soft carbonation. Nice stuff.

Small format bottle. Black pour. Heavy on the roasted malts. Lots of sticky sweetness but not really a pronounced maple flavor. Definitely a rum presence.

Bottle generously sent by Tommy. Deep black, chocolate, booze and roast malt aroma. Sickly sweet with a big hit of booze. Some barrel and some chocolate,a lot of sweet sugars though. It’s good, but even a 12 oz bottle is a lot.

Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland ! Pours a deep burnt sienna color with a finger of khaki foam. Lots of sweet kahlua undertones with soft cocoa powder, malted maple and underlying roast. The integration of rum flavors into this already delicious maple stout is seamless and delicious ! Nutty, sweet, boozy and did I mention delicious !

(375 ml.
