BCTC 2010. Tap. Pours a hazed deep amber, woody brown with a a decent off white head. Aroma is slightly spicy with phenolic yeast, but also has a mix of rye and fruity esters as well- spicy earthy malts, with light caramel and fruit- slight apple. Flavor is toasted malts, rye, spice, fruity ester, spicy phenolics, light oiliness in the end- mostly dry and nutty in the end. Ok.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (5572) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 9, 2010
In short: Rye bread in a bottle. A very nice rye beer, but not much of a Saison
How: Tap + Bottle. This rating for a 22oz bottle consumed very fresh about 1 month after bottling.
The look: Clear golden body topped by a large off-white head
In long: The pleasant nose has a nice rustic side and also a nice spicy rye bread side. Taste is a bit of a letdown. Very much focussed on oily rye bread, and then more oily rye bread. Some apricots and other light fruity notes. Light spiciness sensation that often comes with rye based beers. Body is juicy/oily with a carbonation that is too soft for the style. It is unfortunate that the nice rustic character did not make it to the taste at all. Good beer. Yet another rating for me. I find that typing ratings is very time and beer consuming.

22oz bottle pours a hazy orange with a frothy, white head. Nice, spicy aroma, cloves, orange peel, yeast, perfume. Flavor is where the rye really shines through, sweet, spicy, yeast, a little clove, honey. Medium bodied, lightly dry.

Pouring from their booth at BCTC. Pours a hazed golden orange with a thin white head. Spicy citrus and rye, caramel and toast. Caramel, sugar maple, spicy rye. Long and smooth, night grapefruit bitterness with some lingering toast and quinine.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (5420) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 29, 2010
Wash. DC tasting.
hazy golden, white head.
aroma, full on rye goodness, sweet and some spices, strawberry like nose, pureed fruit like apricot.
flavors, plenty of rye, light spicy mouthfeel is thick with the Saison yeast being a tad drown in the whole rye aspect of the beer. Mouthfeel is grainy with some mild caramel malts for a dry finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fred82 (1992) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 18, 2010
Bomber at a tasting.
Appearance : Hazy amber with a small head.
Aroma : Nice yeasty esters with some spicy rye. Nice esters.
Taste : Quite light with yeasty esters. Nice spicy rye. Finish yeast and rye. Carbonation quite soft.
Overall : Very interesting mix between rye and saison yeast. Very clean and very drinkable. Carbonation may be a bit too soft. Taste is also borderline watery. Very interesting but maybe needs a little tweaking. Thanks to sflpunk for saving one of these for me.
