Cheers again to Leighton for the New England haul. Light haze on this amber - gold beer. Small white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Light minerals. Touch of cream in the malt. Floral hops with a light orange - tangerine citrus. The floralness returns accompanied by a little pith. Semi dry finish with a medium bitter linger. Super drinkable. Very nice!

Bottle at Bruce’s, London. Pours clear gold with a fine, creamy foam head. Pine and lightly toasted bready malts on the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, some toasty grass, bread, mellow orange, citrus peel. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly resinous finish, some toasty grass, pine, dry toasty pale malts, orange, hints of grapefruit. Pretty drinkable stuff, though not an especially bright IPA.

A hazed golden amber IPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a nice resinous floral hops with citrusy hops, very nice. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with floral hops, range pulp, menthol notes, nice. On tap at Three Penny Taproom, April 6, 2012.

Bottle... Clear golden pour with a small, wispy, white head. The aroma is a mélange of musky, grapefruity and tangerine-like hops. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The great hop flavor is bitter, but not overly so. Lengthy, crisp, bitter finish. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

Cloudy yellow with a tinge of orange, with a sgnificant foamy head. Hoppy aroma. The taste is a bit vegetable. A good malty backbone and good drinkability and fits well into style of IPA rather than DIPA.Above average mouthfeel.John’s bottle.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2012 My Bottom Line:
Hop bomb alert! Peaches, and tropical fruit galore expand onto a portentous resinous finish while creamy cereals find a way to show their polished honeyed malt flavors.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the hazy beige blond.
-When super fresh, the hop onslaught is so relentless it decreases drinkability.
-The finish is amazingly bitter and coniferous, as per usual for Lawson’s IPAs. A few weeks old though, the bitterness is leveled to the rest of the flavor profile’s medium-high intensity.
-Effervescence lightens the load somewhat.
-A 2-month-old bottle provided a much more drinkable, nearly balanced IPA. Polished and intelligently conceived. From 3.7 (tap) to 4.0.

Bottles and on tap at BlackBack Pub, Waterbury, VT.

Bottle, thanks to Leighton. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is orange, tangerine, sherbet, marmalade, Irn Bru, orange squash and candy. The taste is orange, grapefruit, resinous, citric, spice, sherbet, metallic, resinous and nice bitterness with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A big step up from the Jade I had before. Tasty and rather drinkable.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Chippo33 (thanks Paul), pours a cloudy opaque dull golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is full of tropical fruits, a blast of piney and resinous hops, and a big of caramel biscuity malts. Flavour is intensely fruity, full of peaches, mangos, and pineapples, truckloads of resinous hops, and a nice caramel malty backbone. Extremely juicy and very hoppy, backed beautifully with generously malting, ending on fruity and hoppy notes, leaving a wonderful astringency. A wonderful IPA.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2013 In short: An intense blond IPA with a razor-sharp commanding bitterness. Very good.
How: Tap at Blackback Pub, Waterbury VT.
The look: Mostly cloudy blond-orange body topped by a medium white head with good retention.
In long: Nose is intensely hoppy, herbal, flowery oranges an dgrapefruits. This is a very bright aroma, nothing dank or resinous here. Taste has the usual Lawsons pale hoppy beer malt backbone, full of very crisp crackery malts with a bit of pastry-like sweetness. Lots of juicy flowery-grapefruity hops, clean an assertive bitterness, a lemon zest adds to the very sharp bitter finish. I wouldn’t call this beer “easy to drink” because it is pretty damn tasty and intense, if anything it loses a few points for being less drinkable than most Lawson’s hoppy beers, a palate drestroyer. Another kick-ass hoppy beer from Lawson’s, no surprise here. With this Triple Play Lawsons just hit another homerun.
