courtesy of oscarmike, thanks! WOW! this is a great ipa right here. had several hoppy lawsons brews side by side and thought was by far the most complex, and best drinking also. the hop profile is just spot on here, couldnt ask for anything more really, fruity, sweet, tangy, tast, bitter, soapy, just very well balanced. perfect carb and drinking for my palate. screw pliny, ill take this any day!

Aroma like a fist full of hops. Hazy amber with small head that dissipates quickly leaving a thin head with some lacing. Big hop flavor and bitter comes in for a long finish . Outstanding IPA

(Rating #4609)

Vermont has struck IPA gold again!!! Pours beautiful lemon with an orange hue, mostly unclear with a nice white head. The aroma brings sweet juicy lemons so pleasant in the nose, no bite at all there. The flavor of juicy lemon citrus hops blend so well on the tongue with the medium to full body and perfect carbonation. This beer, along with Heady Topper and Abner, really put Vermont over the edge for hoppy beers.

Draft at prohibition pig in Waterbury. Pours a nice golden haze with a little head. Amazing citrus and piney flavor typical of most vt IPAs ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Peach pour, thin white head. Nose is a cornucopia of pine sap, peach skin, white grapefruit, and lots of zingy bright things. Mouth is tight and dry, major hop expression on the mid and back, lingering. There’s a lot of sharp, bright hop qualities as in the nose, and a softer fruit beneath, like white peach skin. But it’s all about the bright hops, a really tight and delicious beer.

Bottle from Frank, pours a hazy golden orange, with very thin white head and not a ton of lacing. Aromas and taste of grapefruit, pine, pineapple, light malts, and other citrus rinds. Nice and dry and perfectly bitter, very solid but sunshine is better.

It’s a cloudy glass of beer. Dark orange in the shadows and glowy yellow-orange in direct light. Medium head, off-white. A blanket of little bubbles. Good lacing and retention. The aroma is a very bright blend of citrus and tropical fruit. It smells like a smoothie made of oranges, tangerines, pineapples, mangoes and papayas. Rich and fruity and citrus sweet. Very little malt character. Just a pungent load of hops. My only knock is that the aroma could be a bit stronger. This bottle is pretty fresh, but I wouldn’t be shocked if a pour off a newly filled keg would raise my score. The taste has wonderful hop flavor, particularly for a 7% abv beer. It’s just packed with complexity and delicacy. The bitterness is fairly mild. It’s just got a ton of flavor. It has that same mix of citrus and tropical fruit. Very bright and sweet, though there’s little malt sugariness. It’s just all fresh, tasty hops. What malt can be found is light and a bit cracker-ish. Long finish full of grapefruit-ish hop bitterness. Pretty dry. Mouthfeel is medium. Really fills the mouth with flavor. Nice dry finish. Good platform for the hop flavors. This is an excellent IPA, on par with the best of the style. I’ve been very impressed with all of the Lawson’s beers that I’ve tried, and I’m thrilled to be able to sit down and have a bottle of Triple Play to myself. Great stuff.

Clear bright golden color, dense off-white froth. Softer aroma of grapefruit, orange, mango, and pale malt. Light sweetness followed by even milder bitterness. Very smooth, though a little oily, and light-bodied. Almost no alcohol presence
