Great bitterness, but aroma is not very IPA-hoppy. I like it less as I drink more of it.

Blind sample, GLBN IPA Challenge 2010. Up against Port Townshend Hop Diggity IPA, round 1. Darker pour, malts solidly represented, decent hop presnece. Malt backbone overshadows the hops. IMO. lost 0-3

22 oz. from PCC Fremont. A little different than the big Simcoe/Amarillo hop IPAs. Decent malty base gives it a sweet aroma and nice caramel finish. Always looked over Lazy Boy in favor of the more exotic-looking beers offered at my local co-op. Will definitely try some more now.

Bottle thanks to riversideAK. Pours a dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and grassy hops with a light caramel malt backbone. Flavor is full of fresh citrusy hops and a light malt backbone. Very drinkable, very pleasant.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Aroma woodsy/piny with some mango and large doses of nougaty, almost roasty malt. Flavor very grapefruit-bitter with some of the pine/wood hanging around toward the end as well as semi-rich nougat malt notes. A bit astringent. Not really my sort of IPA, and seemingly not terribly well executed, though still enjoyable.

From an old rating note: K brought this back for me from a trip to Washington. Bomber. Dark orange pour with a medium white head and a fair bit of lacing. Grapefruit and pine hop taste backed up with a solid malt backbone.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Very low hop aroma, very little lacing. Had a bitter finish without real hop flavor. I love Washington beers but this one left me disappointed.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a 22 oz bottle this poured a color that was half-way between amber and orange, slightly hazy, with a large foamy off-white head and lots of lacing rings. Nose of citrus dominates but there are some pine notes as well. Smooth and medium bodied mouthfeel. Flavor is bitter with citrus and pine. Long dry bitter finish rounds out a good and easy drinking IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, pine, grapefruit, slight toasted malts, slight caramel, and some citrus. Poured deep orange/deep amber in color with a small, creamy, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Fair to good lacing. Flavor is light to medium bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of hops, pine, grapefruit, light pale malts, light crystal malts, slight resin, and slight citrus. Medium body. Oily, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Hops, slight pine, slight citrus, slight resin, and lightly toasted malt finish is lightly dry.
