3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fruity, sweet, but growingly dry IPA that is less clean than expected.
High drinkability. Easy-going hop flavours that you’ve met in countless other examples. Earthy more than caramelly, thus finishing rather dry.
Rather simple juicy malts, more pale than crystal. Fairly yeasty for an IPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013, acquired from the duty free shop at SEATAC, 10/08/13.
Golden amber with a good sized off white/light beige head.
Nose is light hops, orange, hint of plastic, citrus fruit.
Taste comprises bitter orange, light caramel notes, grass, hops.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with light hop bitterness.
Not what I really expect from a west coast IPA, more akin to an overgrown Golden Blonde, ok drinkable affair but nothing I’d return to!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Overall a decent above-average IPA. Pours a medium amber, good head and it’s tight too. Aroma is straight-forward NW aroma, orange, grapefruit and some pine. Has a medium amber-ale malt profile, some moderate caramel sweetness and a little toastiness, probably from the Munich malt. Bitterness is present and does not overwhelm. Good balance however somewhat boring. This is a very good basic northwestern IPA. I must be a bit biased from all of my IIPA and extreme IPA tasting because this seems pretty normal to me. Still though, an excellent showing.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Solid IPA. Nice deep copper pour. Good malt backbone, pine oriented hoppiness, and sufficiently bitter. Wouldn't mind a bit thicker mouthfeel, but overall good. Solid B.
