Basically black in colour. Lightly roasty, lots of chocolate in the aroma with a moderately earthy hop signature. Really toasty flavour, like a toasted bagel, with a bit of light nuttiness. Thins out as it goes. Has not as of yet caught up to its predecessor at Druids.

Bomber from Bottle Trek. Opaque black color with a decent tan head that stayed awhile. Sort of chocolate roasted malt aroma - not burnt. Medium body with slightly frothy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, dark roasted malt, and a little coffee. Finish is slightly acid and pretty dry. Lightly puckers the mouth.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6150) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 22, 2010
My Bottom Line:
Burnt bread crusts and cold coffee form most of this Porter’s lackadaisical flavor profile, until spicy hops and mild fruitiness develop gentle tartness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the brownish black.
-The roasted malt bitterness is levelled with the rest of the flavors’ intensity.
-This is rather lean and easily drinkable with its soft, loose carbonation.
-The mouthfeel is a tad amateurish. I hope it is solely a single batch issue.
Bottle.

Bomber. Poured deeper reddish-brown with just a light dusting of beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter, roasty black patent malts and lesser chocolate with a looming sour metallic character beneath. The flavor was mostly dry-roasted black patent with mild coffee bitterness surrounding.. the sourness was there again, and while not overwhelming, it didn’t help a bit.. finished with generic roasty black malts and metal. Medium-ish bodied and dry on the palate with off notes from was seems to be an infection.. the baddies didn’t completely wreck it, but it just wasn’t a very good porter.

Bomber. Pours a brown body with a tan head large head. Malty watery chocolate with a hint of earth and roast. A sudden cherry medicinal note. Thin and possibly infected.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - APR 9, 2008
Bottle: Dark black, light tan head and no lacin. Nose of some underripe blueberry, some soy and hop. Lame tart, salty, bad coffee. The flavor is astringent, thin, tart, soy, grass, ozone. Bad. Lots of carbonation. Infected?
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Skyview (4739) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 4, 2008
Received a 22-oz bombe via trade with 5000. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a fizzy tan head that slowly dissipates toa fine film and tan ring. Aroma of roasted dark malt, some chocolate, roasted nuts, and some toasted dark leaves. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of toasted dark malt, some buitter and flowery hops. Finish is semi-dry, a little metallic with some chocolate/coffee aftertaste.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 26, 2010
In short: A lacklustre, empty-body, roasted dark brown ale of some kind.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed (relatively fresh?) a few months after purchase. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Clear dark brown body topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Nose has some brownies, a tiny bit of smoke and a light annoying fecal matter smell. Taste is roasted, a bit nutty, a bit fruity, dry bread crust. A light acidity in the finish. The body feels empty and airy. 80% of this beer is bland and the other 20% is problematic. This is lame, lame, lame. If that beer was a horse I’d have to shoot it.
