bitbucket (1542), Kirkland, Washington, USA Feb 7, 2007 On draft at the brewery. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a thick and lacy head that slowly collapses. Creamy medium body and moderate carbonation. Aroma of nuts, caramel and chocolate. The taste stars with sweet roasted nuts and chocolate, and finishes with an espresso-pine bitterness. Almost sneaking into stout territory. Tasty! scrizzz (489), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 21, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Thick black roasted goodness. Dark and full, not cloying or overly heavy. The hops perk up at the end to balance the finish. presario (2397), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 15, 2007 GCBF cask conditioned sample. Nice dark porter. Very dark. Thin creamy head. Dark chocolate coffee flavour. Dark sour finish. DuffMan (1939), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 24, 2008 Dark brown, nearly black really, with moderate carbonation generating a surprisingly lively head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma. Medium bodied, chocolate and clay/earthy tones, slightly acidic finish, almost tart. I actually quite liked this, and found it is similar to the London-style old porters. Suttree (2289), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Dec 2, 2007 Bonus appearance point ’cause I love the Lazy Boy logo. Nice aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and slightly burnt toast. Interesting tartness in the flavor, mixed with coffee and chocolate, plus a nice subtle fruitiness. A bit on the thin side, but that seems to work here. Tasty stuff.
