troopie (470), USA May 5, 2008 Draught. Very dark pint with a strong buttery aroma. Very buttery flavour with some chocolate, coffee and toast. Light finish, with some bittersweet coffee.
tronraner (1392), (Louis-, Sevier-, Knox-)ville, Tennessee, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bomber. Pours surprisingly dark black with a small tan head. The aroma is roasty-sweet, with some raisin and other dark fruits and a bit of milk chocolate. The flavor is roasted barley and bitter chocolate, but seems very hollow somehow. There’s a slight ashy sourness to the finish that is pretty satisfying, but all in all, it just seems like it’s lacking something. marcus (966), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 8, 2008 This black ale poured with a nice tan head that gradually dissipated. Unfortunately, it doesn’t taste as good as it looks. The flavor is chocoate malt, but watery with a skunky finish. bhensonb (2835), Woodland, California, USA Jul 30, 2008 Bomber from Bottle Trek. Opaque black color with a decent tan head that stayed awhile. Sort of chocolate roasted malt aroma - not burnt. Medium body with slightly frothy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, dark roasted malt, and a little coffee. Finish is slightly acid and pretty dry. Lightly puckers the mouth. badgerben (3048), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jul 4, 2008 Thanks to Skyview. Black color with a medium head. Light roasted malt aroma. Watery roasted malt flavor. Very light coffee. Skyview (2777), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 4, 2008 Received a 22-oz bombe via trade with 5000. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a fizzy tan head that slowly dissipates toa fine film and tan ring. Aroma of roasted dark malt, some chocolate, roasted nuts, and some toasted dark leaves. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of toasted dark malt, some buitter and flowery hops. Finish is semi-dry, a little metallic with some chocolate/coffee aftertaste.
