Twenty-two oz bottle. Overly fizzy with a thick brown head that fades quickly. Rich aroma of oak and walnuts. Body nearly black. Tastes of spent coffee grounds, old burnt athletic socks and over ripe banana peels. Pours down the drain with few tell tale bubbles. Please let this bottle be the exception.

Oct 26, 2008 Brown-sasparilla color with chocolate head. Funky aroma with some chocolate and perhaps lactose. Flavor is similar, funky flavor, burnt ash, chocolate, lactose. Not so good.

Sep 8, 2008 Bomber from Bottleworks; Nose of coffee and chocolate with a light sour (off) note; Black with a big cinnamon tan head; flavor of chocolate, coffee, and light tartness (infection).

Sep 4, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle this poured a jet black with a nice tan head and good lacing. Beautiful in the glass. Nose is of burnt malts, almost like wet burnt wood. Mouthhfeel is medium with quite a bit of carbonation. Flavor is dominated by the burnt wood taste with a little bit of chocolate. Finish is dry.

Aug 12, 2008 Bomber. Pours surprisingly dark black with a small tan head. The aroma is roasty-sweet, with some raisin and other dark fruits and a bit of milk chocolate. The flavor is roasted barley and bitter chocolate, but seems very hollow somehow. There’s a slight ashy sourness to the finish that is pretty satisfying, but all in all, it just seems like it’s lacking something.

Aug 8, 2008 This black ale poured with a nice tan head that gradually dissipated. Unfortunately, it doesn’t taste as good as it looks. The flavor is chocoate malt, but watery with a skunky finish.
