Draft at snoose junction. Pours a cloudy dark amber with bright golden edges. Dense creamy white head. Big fresh piney nose, very inviting. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Bitey dry mid palate; there’s toast and caramel there too under the resiny bite. Big dark dry resiny finish. Nice for an ipa that aims more for power than variety in flavors. Worth repeating.

Draft at 192. Slight hazy dark gold. Small foam. Very mild aroma, medium apple sweet body, some tart harsh bitter aftertaste. Dark pine hop, but astringent. Not terribly pleasant.

On tap at The Local, pours a clear bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops, along with floral notes and just enough crackery malt to back. Flavour is sweeter than the aroma suggests, with perfumey floral hops, and sugary sweet caramel bready malt that is too present. Not well-balanced and lacking in hops. Not the best.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color. Nose is fairly bitter, with some grass elements to it and a slight bit of feet. Taste is moderately bitter, but doesn’t seem all that fresh to me.

Tap @ K&K. Hazy orange pour with a persistent, short white head leaving moderate lace. Nose is fairly malty, with a touch of pine hops. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Pretty ordinary double IPA: Caramel, grapefruit rind, more EtOH bitterness than I like in any beer and some oranges. Finish is long and bitter, with more EtOH bitterness and some dandelion. Pretty average, which puts it well below the high water mark in this part of the world.

Draught. Seemed rather a beer difficult to appoach. Draught. Thin soapy head with much lacing. Rather feeble aroma, almost merely a smell. Full bodied hop flavour that redeemed the aroma. Fine hoppy finish. Worth drinking withal.

Good hop aroma. Orange color. This is good. Quite hoppy but doesn’t seem ttoo strong. Definitely drinkable.

Sampled at Fremont Oktoberfest. Pours hazy orange amber with a scant white head. Sweet citrus and cotton candy aroma. Full body nearly still, and the serving temperature is pretty close to the current outdoor temperature in Fremont. There are some weird flavor notes in the aroma and taste, perhaps due to being so warm? The taste is cotton candy sweet, with some citrus that fades to resin.

Aptly named, this is one strange IPA. If there is 100IBU in here it’s hiding under the layers of sugar.

from old rating note: draft at fremont oktoberfest in seattle. dark amber pour with small light tan head. floral hops and sweet honey malt in the aroma. taste is all about the big hops. balanced somewhat with caramel malts. suits my tastes - but tough to put into context after day of drinking. K7.5
