Lives up to its name...pours a dark almost pitch black with big brown fluffy head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and some smoke. Flavors of astringent chocolate, coffee, and tobacco.

2014 bottle. Pours an opaque black, fast forming khaki head that eventually dies to an island and a small ring, no lacing. Nose is nose is a little roasty and something else. Tastes better than it smells. Some roast that boarders on burnt, sweet, thin body, a little bitter. Needs more of a chocolate and coffee flavour.

Bottle. Opens with some serious gusto. Pours a nice black with a lot of brown head. Carbonated like no imp stout Iíve ever seen. Looks weird. Some chocolate, maybe a little coffee on the nose. All I get on the tongue is carbonation. Wayyyy too much. Ruins everything. I quit. Dumped it out.

12 ounce bottle. Pours almost black with a nice tan head. Aroma of malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit, and molasses. Pretty good.

Bottle shared at chrisoís Easter 2015 tasting - London. Thanks to Col for this one. Pours oily black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds dark fruits, ash and cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor with touches of metal, bitter cocoa, ash, leathery dark fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with more chocolate and leather. OK.

12oz bottle with 11/11/14 on it. Pours a viscous black with tons of voluminous, frothy, brown head. Nose has licorice, molasses, tree bark, something a bit funny like some dusty couch, stale grains, some plum. Flavor is sweet, lightly nutty, cola, molasses, some burnt bread, burnt caramel, something a bit artificial like grape soda. Full, sweet, spritzy finish. A bit messy and doubtful it will improve with age.

Bottle 355ml @ Hotel room, The International Cozy Inn, New York, NY
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, funk, berries, hint of tartness and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light sour with a long funky, chocolate, berry finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft to fizzy

Bottle. Very dark brown, clear-looking beer topped by a dense, light tan head. The aroma has some molasses and licorice, roasted malts and a lightly sour touch. Some hints of dark chocolate and prunes too. Itís full-bodied and smooth, semi-sweet, with licorice, coffee and molasses dominating the flavor. As in the aroma, thereís also some chocolate and dried fruits. Lasting finish. Nothing impressive going on here, but itís a tasteful beer, even though itís not a beer Iíd repeat. 150626

Bottle to snifter. Black in color, large light brown head. Nose is licorice and molasses with a burnt sugar character. Light tar and tobacco. Taste is initially bitter dark cocoa with a noticeable coffee sharpness. More focused on coffee sharpness and bitterness than smooth rounded cocoa. Decent. Seems a tad thin tho. Probably the best impy stout from Mississippi.

ICEatALAMO (1259) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JUN 3, 2015
Bottle. The pour is black. The aroma is mostly mild malts. The taste seems a little thin for an imperial. Slightly over carbonated. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
