Pours black with a small tan head that lasts throughout. Aroma purely consists of roasted malt; coffee, dark chocolate and nuts. Tastes are more of the same. Silky body with a bitter chocolaty finish. A very nice, elegant beer. I’ve come to learn that dark beers are Lazy Magnolia’s specialty.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, funk, berries, hint of tartness and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light sour with a long funky, chocolate, berry finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft to fizzy

Bottle. Very dark brown, clear-looking beer topped by a dense, light tan head. The aroma has some molasses and licorice, roasted malts and a lightly sour touch. Some hints of dark chocolate and prunes too. It’s full-bodied and smooth, semi-sweet, with licorice, coffee and molasses dominating the flavor. As in the aroma, there’s also some chocolate and dried fruits. Lasting finish. Nothing impressive going on here, but it’s a tasteful beer, even though it’s not a beer I’d repeat. 150626

Bottle to snifter. Black in color, large light brown head. Nose is licorice and molasses with a burnt sugar character. Light tar and tobacco. Taste is initially bitter dark cocoa with a noticeable coffee sharpness. More focused on coffee sharpness and bitterness than smooth rounded cocoa. Decent. Seems a tad thin tho. Probably the best impy stout from Mississippi.

Bottle. The pour is black. The aroma is mostly mild malts. The taste seems a little thin for an imperial. Slightly over carbonated. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piwo jest dobre, ale nieco zawodzi. Zdecydowanie brak mu aromatów i smaków typowych dla imperialnego stouta. Jest dość lekkie i sesyjne jak na ten styl.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mildly roasty dark malts, toiuches of dark chocolate and coffee. Tangy dark fruits. Airy dry finish brings a little spice. Okay.

Bottle split at Chriso Easter Tasting acquired from Charleston Beer Exchange, 04/04/15. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is faint plastic, chocolate, toffee, light antiseptic, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises bitter fruit, milk chocolate, spice, toffee fudge, sweet malt. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok drop but low end for style.

Bottle at ChrisO, big thanks to Theydon Brois for this rare state tick. It pours black with a decent tan head. The nose is rich roast, dark chocolate, sweet chocolate brownie and rocky road. The taste is bitter roast, earth, cocoa, ash, drying wood, light spice, toast and charcoal with a dry finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Really good aroma to this one. Pretty decent stuff.

2014 bottle. Pours nearly black with a large brown head. Too much head. Smells of chocolate and alcohol. Taste is chalk, blah chocolate, dirt, and sour fruit.
